So 4 days ago, my wife got me pretty good! She decided to ask me if I wanted to go look at cars for fun. Well we did and she needed up pushing for a 2017 GT in Grabber Blue with Premium trim, Shaker sound and the 3:31 rear, security upgrade and some others stuff (being the Shaker upgrade). Really, Really cool to say the least.

This is my 6th Mustang and the overall quality is wonderful. We traded in my 2014 GT w/auto that had 16k on the clock and her Miata....and the difference in handling and responsiveness is mindblowing. Overall, there is very little I want to do this one as it will see maybe 100 miles a month. At this point, after I changed all of the suspension on the 2014, I am not keen on doing it again. I really like how it runs. I am going to change the shifter however and go with a MGW. For the transmission, I dunno what else I will do/change so recommendations will be very helpful.

Oh, and a picture. I am going to get some better ones today.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! As others have stated, we would love to see a pic of your new ride!

For the trans, most say to swap out the fluid to something better and remove the clutch spring. But what do I know... I have the auto! lol

Thanks. She is not a fan of the color or body style (yet) but loves riding in it. Funny thing is that both of my kids who are 7 and 9 fell asleep after about 30 minutes of riding in the backseat. They said it was a lot better than the 2014 seats.

:)

Pics or it didnt happen
I am hoping to get some good shots of the car today as well, but will most likely update with more pics once we get the clearbra put on on next Tuesday...the dealership is also doing the northwest protection package so I will be without "Skittles" for a few days.

The funny thing is that she was wanting to buy me a new car and we looked at a Challenger and also a WRX but honestly, I couldn't bring myself to buy a Dodge nor could I bring myself to buy another WRX given the cost and performance downgrade I was going to take when trading in the 14GT.

Very, very happy with this one and probably the most surprising thing about the car was that interior wise, the fit and finish is worlds above what I was expecting.

Oh I do thats for sure. On Saturday we went to Astoria, Oregon from Salem which was about a 3 hour trip. Over some fairly windy roads the car was silly composed. So much so, that I really cannot see modding it quite a bit. In the S197 series, it seemed like a lot of stuff was mandatory to change for a great experience. (I had a 2008 GT in Premium trim with the 5 speed and then the 2014 with 6R80 and no other options.) Both cars seemed like dinosaurs in comparison. One thing I can say is that this one is deceptively tame. Really, really quick, but composed and 75 feels like 55. Another thing is that the overall balance, handling, and composure of the chassis really lends the car to be a drivers car in corners and not just a brute hammer like my 2014 was.

She bought it for you or just pushed you to buy it and contributed her miata to the deal? (presuming she has another vehicle?)

Congrats on the new ride and what a cool thing she did for you. Good partner is a blessing in life.

To keep things simple, lower subtly with Eibach pro kit, rims and tires, and an exhaust and you are good.
