Perhaps it was mentioned earlier, (I am lazy and don't feel like wading through a million posts) but is there anything from Ford Performance that a GT500 is even in the works? Like actual proof and not just blind speculation?

I know awhile back, it was mentioned that the GT350 has "good bones" for what we assumed would be a GT500, but is there any possibility they'll use the new S650 platform instead?

Just a few thoughts.

I hope too that its a supercharged 5.2 standard crank motor. Whats its HP without boost 530 or so? Strap a Supercharger to it and crank out 725+ and call it a day. Give it a 10 speed auto and strap them 315s out back and watch them cry.

I mean, people say the same about the new Ford GT... But it is running a TT 6. Now I don't personally think it will, I think it will be blown or more than likely a TT V8, I cannot say with confidence it will absolutely not have a TTv6 in it. I would say with more confidence it won't be 4wd before I could say no V6. Not 100% on either though.

It's not going to be a V6 GT50 PEOPLE who say are :dnftt: that would be such a big loos for ford

I think the V6 is a good engine for the base Mustang, but IMO the top dog has to be an 8. Even if Ford has to make a small TTV8 like 4 liters or something to meet the environmental regs, at least it would sound decent.

hopefully the fact that 2016 CobraJet uses a 2.9L Whipple on a 5.0 Coyote is a sign of things to come... they have it cranked up to over 1,000hp in strip guise.... whats not to say that 700hp is not too far out of the question for the street (larger raidator, less boost, less tire). and you know ford racing has beat the crap out of those motors during testing.

The CJ has had that engine since at least 2013.

you are correct, I'm just stating that they are still using a 2.9 on a 5.0 within the S550 body in 2016.... kinda like they're sticking to what works.

My opinion..if you were to see a TT v6 in any S550 it would have been the 350. The GT500 is always going to be the big displacement big brother engine to the GT350 and lower trims.

If ya would like to see a CPC coyote supercharged in the GT500 then you might as well buy the Shelby American, FPC V8 twin turbo is the way to go (good bones) !

I was with you until you said widebody NOPE!!! let those JDM TEA-BAGS have that
lol because ford hasn't been taking the "JDM tea-bags" ideas progressively over the last couple decades? going from a push-rod V8 to a SOHC to DOHC and now they have a turbo 4 cylinder. Then there's the styling on the s550...take a poll on the forum for how many ppl got drawn in from an import for the s550, myself being one of them LOL. If you're talking rivet widebody, which lets be honest, won't come from factory, then yea I would agree, let the ricers destroy their own cars.
