I'm in MN and can confirm this as well. Every time a inquire locally about R allocations, I hear about how they would be happy to sell me a '17 at MSRP or below.

This has been my experience too. I have called and emailed a lot of dealers over the past couple of weeks and many more are "firm" at 20k over than those at 10k over, at least for the R. In fact many still think that even non-R cars should be 5k over or more. Winter approaching in the North...

Being local and searching, I know they also just dealer ordered an '18 Kona Blue R, but want 25k over for it, just like the only other R locally available.

That is encouraging to hear. I have been lurking for quite some time and just started making calls this week. 10K over ADM is the best I have come up with so far and the local dealers are at 25k.
