  1. Anyone use GTECHNIQ Crystal Serum?

Crystal Serum is an excellent coating. Extremely finicky to apply (and potentially dangerous in the wrong hands), but very durable if applied properly.
  2. 2017-18 Shelby GT350 / GT350R Mustang Orders Placed (Vote/Share Here)

FWIW, my '17 arrived at the dealership in Burlington ON this this Tuesday. Went and saw it today, looks great. I am unfortunately going out of town for awhile so pickup will be first week of July. They received a 17 R on the same truck.
  3. Xpel PPF clear bra update

Originally it was difficult to remove from the backing paper and tacked too hard. They tweaked it and then people had edges coming up. It's just a finickier film than say, Xpel Ultimate. Looks better, imo, tho.
  4. Xpel PPF clear bra update

That's because it is difficult to install properly. 3M has been tweaking it a lot to help installers who are having issues. Optically it is incredibly clear. New version is due any time, samples are out.
  5. Show me those 2017 Model Year GT350's!

Well, I got serialized today. Second week of June production, so likely a month or so out.
  6. Recommended detailing shop in Montreal

That's easy, just look up whoever is authorized to do cquartz finest and pick them. In this case, https://www.facebook.com/MtlAutoDetail?ref=ts&fref=ts
  7. I really want to wax, but.......

Depends on the installer, they will all flush the panel, some use soap and water, some use IPA, either way, waxing won't impede the ppf application.
  8. How old is your clear bra / paint protection?

Yes, the old 3m stuff is junk. That would be 3M 848, which is 40 year old technology (literally), new 3M stuff (called pro series) is every bit as good as XPEL Ultimate, and clearer. It's just harder to apply. My experience; had no film applied to any of my cars until I got my S4 in 2008, had...
  9. I really want to wax, but.......

Wax it if you like, most PPF installers will wax the panels they are applying film to anyway.
  10. Opti-coated!

Unfortunately there is so much misinformation on the internet it perpetuates this. 9H when used with regards to paint coatings is *not* as hard as diamonds. 9H and diamonds refer to the MOH scale of hardness. Coating hardness is based on the LEAD scale, so think number 1-10 pencils. 9H means a...
  11. Opti-coated!

In case it has not been clarified... Opti Coat Pro is the current Pro only Optimum coating. There is also Pro Plus, that is a topper for Pro, it is pro only as well. Opti Guard is the old name for Opti Coat Pro, it doesn't exist anymore (except as an interior leather coating). Opti Coat 2.0...
  12. Tire dressing recommendations?

Carpro Perl, dilute as needed for desired result. If applied lightly it won't sling even if you speed off immediately.
  13. Touch Up Tips

Could you upload a photo? Generally speaking I've always found the build up/sand down method to be best but it requires a lot of time in between applications to be able to sand and not pop the paint.
