  1. M1 has 5 miles and I did this!

Not here to bash another competitor's product. Just posted my experience on a street car let alone a track car. You've got the gas tanks wrapped. If you just had it on the intake I wouldn't be here warning you. Your car, your call.
  2. M1 has 5 miles and I did this!

Just a warning. I put a similar product under my '86 but above the cats. Product said it would withstand 1200* of radiant. There was about 2" of clearance between the pipe and floor. The material caught fire and nearly burned down my car. Turns out the glue didn't hold, the product sagged into...
  3. Had Full Xpel Ultimate PPF Done - Need Opinions on the work done

I can confirm this with my 3M product. Installer didn't want to do the work until I had the car for 60 days. When I needed the hood redone after a repaint from wind damage, he said the same thing - 90 days.
  4. Had Full Xpel Ultimate PPF Done - Need Opinions on the work done

FWIW, I had the front grill area/hood/fenders, door edges and mirrors done with 3M PPF on my 2016 GT. The guy who did the work used to work for 3M traveling the world training people on how to install 3M's product. I found him just after he started his own shop. Just went out and looked at my...
  5. To Coilover Or Not

I run the KW v3s on my s550, and Bilstein HDs on my 86 CAM-C car. In my experience, adjustables can be a pain. You really have to understand rebound/compression graphs. I kept a record on my KW settings for a whole season of A/X and OT time. The problem with both is that there wasn't enough...
  6. Stealth Hitch

As I pointed out way back, I had a custom hitch built for my 86 Vert. Receiver is completely hidden behind the bumper. The fabricator did some testing to make certain it could carry the tongue weight I wanted. Pricy? Yes. But I wouldn't hesitate doing this again if a hitch was a necessity but...
  7. Mufflers?! Who needs em?! ☠️🤘🏻

So I have what are supposed to be straight through mufflers on my 86 GT. Apparently, the manufacture left out some "muffling" pieces because these things are so loud and drone numbingly that even after a short drive my head hurts. Done with loud.
  8. Too Nice to Drive? Older and Wiser?

So my other car is an 86 Mustang GT Vert that I "finished" the build on in June 2020. Basically, it's a Pro-Touring custom. Tons of money in this thing. But it's a driver. I've only put about 750 miles on it but that is going to change. It was primarily built to run in SCCA CAM-T, Good Guys...
  9. PAID OFF! Celebration!

Wife was tired paying for the last 5 years so paid-off 4 months early. Ours was at zero interest, but not sure I'd do this again - paying each month was a drag 3 years in. But good news it only has 34K on the odo.
  10. Old fart here

I'm old enough to not remember that I might know better or what giving a shit means.
  11. Old fart here

73, but young for my age😎. Autocrossed and open tracked the car regularly until Covid. Do my own work including adding the KWv3 suspension and resonator delete/x-pipe, etc.
  12. PAID OFF! Celebration!

After 2008, our residential RE took more than 10 years to recover to pre-2008 levels, and that was in a very hot market. Residential RE on average increases about 3% a year. Compare that to the 10% annual stock market average. FCF analysis is important to determine one's financial health, but...
  13. PAID OFF! Celebration!

I've been in the equity markets since before '87. I've seen and weathered many ups and downs, and still the 10% average return holds. I am a huge Warren Buffet fan and before I retired had 95% invested. Always bought when the market went down; never went to the sidelines. Now I pay people to...
  14. Stealth Hitch

The '86 is lowered; full MM suspension. PHB hangs down further than the hitch receiver. But the rear overhang is pretty short. I needed the hitch to pull a trailer for my A/X and track day tires and paraphinella, but didn't want to see it when not in use, which is most of the time. The cost was...
  15. Stealth Hitch

See post #98 in this thread. That pic is of the receiver only. I'd have to look for one with the hitch put in the receiver.
