Yep, symptom was just the thud. They pulled trans, couldn't find anything wrong. Pulled oil filter, found metal.

not sure where this thud will take all these cars but a friend took his GT with 736 miles into the dealer and found metal in the filter thus determining the crank was moving around during shifting. New engine on the way. Mine will be going to the dealer soon.
