I think it is a simple block off plate, otherwise there would be no reason to have those 4 clips on the back. You can see them in the picture posted by TexxasGT350.

All I need is the plastic cover, I can remove the radio and display and the cover should clip into that opening, correct?

Any idea where I can get a R-type radio cover? Thinking about pulling my radio and would like to get the empty space covered. Thanks
