It definitely slows me down, but it's probably because I'm not as smooth as a I should be. Don't be afraid to turn it off. It's easy to control the car at the limit.

Got my car back! Problem solved. It was a loose transmission fluid line. I'm so happy to get the car back without the noise. It's been driving me nuts. I guess the 3rd dealer is the charm.
I don't follow your logic on why it's not a drivetrain if the shaft doesn't spin. Flywheel is attached to the engine. It spins even when you are in neutral.
Anyway, the dealer isolated the noise. It's coming from the transmission. We'll see what happens.
