Thanks for that explanation. It makes perfect sense now and fits with my hesitation issue. Sounds like the anti-shuffle timing drop is a symptom not the cause....

Hey guys,
I've had quite a few PMs asking for my tune file. I need to add this publicly:
In no way am I an expert tuner. If you use the tune, it's at your own risk. While I believe what I did is safe, if you break something, well...
I do not recommend just taking the file and...
There are two simple ways to do this... HP Tuners has a single lookup table for each of three modes: winter, sport and Normal. These tables allow you to specify how much throttle you want for any given pedal travel amount. In other words, pedal position in, remapped throttle position out...
I'm the OP. After much effort starting with Whipple, then Lund without a resolution, I bought HP Tuners, the Coyote Cookbook tuning guide, and took a tuning course. There was a lot to learn about how the PCM works in the s550, and I still have more to learn. In any case, I believe I have...
Yup. Went with a Alex F. Lund tune. Kept it for only a few weeks then went back to the Whipple tune tweaked with HP Tuners... I do have to say, the Lund WOT was amazing. It was driveability that sent me back to the Whipple tune.
I just finished with Lund. I'm going back to the Whipple tune and will tweak using HP Tuners.
What Alex at Lund came up with fixes the Whipple tune issues and runs like a beast at WOT. But the Lund tune adds a whole set of new issues: LT trims -16 to -18%, bad surging/bucking at 3000...
You're right and I am looking into custom tunes. Can't decide between Lund or PBD. IN any case, I want to understand why my car behaves like it does to make sure any new tune I get isn't making an underlying problem.
