OP, it seems clear to me that you should get rid of the GT350, especially because you said that if you were to have any mechanical failures, it would be financially catastrophic for you. With a kid on the way, that seems like an irresponsible roll of the dice.
IMO, sell the GT350 and take...
Agreed with what the others are saying. Keep searching and the right one will pop up. The GT350 owners are an interesting bunch, which usually fall into the collector type, or track day type. It's usually pretty easy to distinguish if an example is from the collector or track day type.
I also...
I've been debating putting jacking rails on my base gt350r... But I'm wrestling with it... Ford was pretty extreme to pull as much weight as they could out of the base GT350R.
But preservation is more important than adding ~13 pounds to the bottom of the car imo. I don't want messed up jacking...
Next time I have my GT350R base out, Iāll run it across the scales. I think Iām under half a tank tooā¦
Plus itās a voodoo so itās probably 4 quarts low on oil⦠š
From Claude AI:
The dip and recovery story. Both model years hit a rough patch in late 2023 ā the post-COVID used car market correction hammered a lot of performance cars, and GT350Rs weren't immune, with some examples selling in the mid-$50Ks. The broader GT350 market has since shown...
Is that Orange Fury? Looks fantastic.
Edit: How hard is that to keep clean? Just before I found my Oxford white GT350R, there was a GT350R in Colorado (or Nevada?) in Orange Fury. I really liked it, but ChatGPT told me it would be harder to keep clean than most colors (but not as hard as black)...
Dang... prices have really gone up. That Blue with white stripes looks like a great spec though.
I bought my 2016 GT350R Base for $63k with 2,800 miles on it in late January. I thought it was a good deal at the time. Maybe I just caught the dealer in the winter at the end of a bad month?
Sorry for the loss, OP.
Kinda cool that you got it on video thoughā¦
Whatās the price difference between a built 5.0 and 5.2 like youāre talking? Just curious.
Iād start promising that any vote for your car guarantees a blowjob from Steve McQueen in the afterlife. Thatāll bump your numbers from the boomer crowd FOR SURE!
Current poll count is 64 "No" and 63 "Yes."
I think that's pretty clear that many people feel that just because the gt500 is more powerful and faster around a track does NOT mean it's an upgrade.
I'd be willing to bet that a few years from now, the best examples of GT350R will be more valuable...
