Iāve been fortunate to have owned several fast mustangs including an 04 cobra and a ā65 mustang with a 331 stroker/5 speed - both higher power to weight ratio than my Mach 1. I thought I knew how to drive - never crashed (knock on wood) and felt comfortable controlling and correcting a fish...
Thanks for sharing this! I originally thought the reversed polarity was on the car itself - it being on the calibration equipment makes me feel a bit better. Ford's approach to update the software is surely more cost effective than calibrating the cars again.
Iām shocked this made it past QA. Assuming they made a change in the 2022-2023 models, wouldnāt that change require a new QA regression (test all related components)? The phrase āwhen attempting to steerā makes me think you canāt steer if the primary sensor fails, and the ācrashā may be more...
Iāve been thinking about deleting the app and removing the telematics fuse - I am cautious after what GM did. Being able to see oil life and add my own records was one of the (albeit smaller) reasons to keep this system. Iāll be watching closely to see if they add it back.
I still have mine installed. They havenāt gotten dimmer, but they were not bright to begin with. Iād say mine started off being 50% dimmer than stock. No issues otherwise.
Are your windows tinted? I had a similar sound due to a poor installation. They had left excess tint below the end of the glass which made a plastic tic sound when driving.
My buddy had the same catch can from his old GT. I dremeled the tab off, and zip tied the longer hose to the wire harness (where it crosses perpendicularly). I certainly don't mind saving a few bucks! It is very stable
Thatās where I live! Decided Iām going to drive home that night.
Also thanks for the Tail of the Dragon suggestions up above. Iāll definitely check those out in the future!
I'm a tech guy too (programming, etc.) I picked the Mach 1 because I can appreciate all of the extra effort that went into its design, cooling, chassis stiffing, Tremec, etc. There is a chance my car won't ever see a track, although I do have plenty of curvy roads nearby. I get the same, if not...
Iām signed up for 6/15-16. I canāt wait. I am driving my Mach 1 there, I live 180 miles away. I am in decent shape - am I going to have enough energy to drive home that night or should I stay in town one more night?
