From the limited amount of info I've seen so far, if you're taking it to the drag strip, then you're running the risk of having issues with the stock ones. I wouldn't run mine without upgrading first or at least bringing a trailer just in case. $.02
Bought a built shortblock from MMR a number of years ago for my blown GT. I had a hack-job, wannabe mechanic at the time who screwed it up on install and had to ship it back from Philly to Cali for parts/repairs.
Point is, MMR's products and customer service were top-notch. I'm always willing...
If it didn't fit, discussion would have ended there--it's a tall motor. Saying it fits indicates they've at least explored it as an option and opens up discussion around Ford using it in the S550.
Fair enough. I'm just having a hard time believing they're abandoning their best option to top...
Why's that exactly? I've heard and read a lot that has pointed to the contrary, and from people who were not wrong when it came to the GT and EB.
It also doesn't exactly fit Ford's ways to kill off Trinity after a two year run and succeed the horsepower battle to Dodge when they can easily bump...
As am I. Bringing back the Cobra nameplate for the S550 would be quite fitting, and I'm not too enthusiastic about having another GT500/GT350/GT### to keep track of. New platform, new-old name.
I missed this, thank you. I still could see them increasing displacement to get to the 300HP mark, but then again, it could probably be done by tuning as well.
With the 2015 Mustang getting a variant of the CD391/536 suspension that the Fusion/Mkz has, there doesn't seem to be a good reason...
I know there's no current 2.5L EB and technically there's no 2.3L EB yet, either.
The quote above would indicate they're working on more EB engines and given the power numbers we're hearing for the 4 cylinder, I'd anticipate them needing to increase displacement to achieve those numbers (more...
Based on HP to Liter ratio, these numbers have always made the most sense to me. Upping a current EB 4 cylinder from 2.0L to 2.5L would give it a more believable HP-Liter ratio.
The 400HP V6 rumor that was flying around is most definitely referring to the EcoBoost V6, but who knows if/when...
I believe I've posted this here before (maybe not) but a gentleman who works for the company that provides suspension and clutch products to Ford (FTE Automotive), lives in Michigan, and has seen the 2015 had this to say:
"It will pretty much be the same rear suspension as the new CD391's and...
I write for AmericanMuscle's blog, though this is more of a personal interest project for me (but hey, if it lets more of you all see the site, win-win). I've been following the 2015's developments heavily since December and a lot has to do with deciding whether or not I want to pick up a '14 or...
FTE has supplied Ford for years will all kinds of clutch, braking and suspension components for various cars, including the focus, fusion, mkz and more than likely, the new Mustang.
I'm not going to go into details on how the gentleman making these claims has legitimate access to the...
The guy who posted on 3.7 making the claims is a Car & Driver employee living just outside of Detroit. Unless he gets kicks from posting bogus info, I'm at the least sold on him having heard this info first hand.
as for the AFM guy, the test group was shown what they were told was the 2015 and...
Apparently someone working on the new Mustang was discussing the new engine lineup for 2015
