    i ran 235/50R18 michelin X-ice last snow season, with a good common sense, should get u where u need to be. narrower is better for deep snow.

    that's a technique truckers use to shift a non synchronized tranny (i drive trucks for living), aka float the gear or somebody call it clutchless shifting.
