Damn, every build I did was PP so I didn't realize it was mandatory for the mag ride. Guess that about solves it.
One thing my wife didn't like with the 15-17 non-pp cars was that they felt 'floaty'. This should rectify that nicely. Shame I can't get her to commit to driving a stick and...
Well damn, if the new base GT is similar to the existing PP suspension wise, i'm not sure the new PP1 will be all that great for a daily driver. Adding the magnaride, you're essentially paying $4k for some brakes, a diff, and a few other parts that really won't matter if you aren't tracking the...
Looks are subjective, so don't be so harsh in either direction. The 1LE is awesome. We'll see how the new PP/Magna stacks up.
Not everyone wants the 10/10 track car. The GTPP should fill a nice niche. If it keeps my wife out of a 440i, it's a win for me.
Yeah bummed they jacked the price of PP so high, but at least it can be optioned with the auto now. Built one out for my wifes new DD, came in just a c-hair over $52k. (GT Premium, Auto, 401A, PP+Magna ride, The safety b/s)
How much do we anticipate X-Plan will hack off that?
That fund does very well, but YTD it's under 2% so he would be upside down on that with a lot more risk than reward, and that's assuming he had the full nut to invest vs. the payoff.
That is my point, there is possible upside but A LOT of risk of downside as well and I don't bet with borrowed...
To all the people proposing to invest rather than pay off the depreciating asset. What is the proposed rate of return on $30k cash? What is your net profit year over year vs interest paid? And how risky is the investment vehicle and how much of your time does it consume?
To all of you...
I was hoping someone would say that.
You know who lost the most money, the people who bought houses with little to no down payment that they couldn't afford in the first place. The people who were reasonable kept their homes, and their values are (at least in my area) above where they were in...
It's not meant to be taken literally, it's more a question of why you're throwing money at a depreciating asset that isn't yet paid for. And even then, the return on money spent for aftermarket parts is purely crap, so everything you're adding amounts to pennies of added value. I'm not against...
This is a common fallacy, aka argumentum ad antiquitatem, just because it's common and tradition makes it correct. Fact is financing something which will be 80% depreciated by the time it's paid for is a fairly recent phenomenon, death by a thousand papercuts, getting people to buy crap they...
This!
It's not always about the nickel and dime aspect of the "free money" by way of almost no interest. It's the mindset and habitual cycle of always owing someone else money for shit you want right now that will F-You in the long run.
I'm also assuming you already own a house. If not...
He did that when he bought the car and financed it. There is also not a huge opportunity cost lost here. If we're talking about paying off the house and losing the deductible interest, that is a difference scenario.
By all means pay off the car before you throw more money at it. And then...
