Yes and no. There was a dyno graph error from using gear ratio calculation on the dyno to configure rpm reading. The reality is you can probably add about 500 rpm to the rpm readout. The engine was starting to layover around 7500 rpm or so. And yes it was reaching the air flow limit of the...
I like to keep the regular Gen 3 and older coyotes at 7600 for a shift point and limit set at 8000. We have some boosted cars that spin to 8000 rpms and few Cobra Jet intake cars that go to 8000 rpms, but those are the exceptions.
Understood completely and no worries. So with your DH, you have the same rods as the GT500 and we have a few of those we are spinning to 8600 and making over 1000HP...so you have some extra wiggle room.
I would set the soft limit to 8000. Soft limit pulls fuel and closes throttle to limit rpm. Hard limit breaks the spark. You probably would never actually hit the hard limiter while accelerating at full throttle unless you were going full throttle down a hill.
The mechanics of the...
Actually Mike is spot on. I set the limiter to 8200 in most cases with an anticipated shift point around 7800 so your are getting the most out of the powerband but also not hitting the hard limiter.
Yes I like to look a few data logs just make sure all is perfect, but that is usually only one or two logs.
You can go with any fuel you like from the gate.
I think you will find us to be quite a bit different than the rest...in a good way. I don't sell anything I would not run myself and I honestly try to chat with all my customers...which you don't get from the owners of the bigger outfits.
Most of my customers with 24 and newer Coyote Mustangs are running our Flex Fuel tuning. It works great and I run it on my own 24 Mustang. No problems whatsoever.
I cannot answer why others do not offer for sure, but to do it in HP Tuners it requires some stuff being done outside the HP...
