Yeah. I'm thinking they are just defective. I broke down and ordered a set of four oem replacements, and i'll just return these ones.

Installed mine last week. Took a little getting used to and now I'm totally sold on the swap. I went with the MGW weighted knob with the pony emblem... Looks factory!
I also bought a roll of dynamat and went to town under the center console and added extra to the MGW and it really quieted down...
