Pretty cool to read comments from enthusiasts and/or owners of both the GT350 and 911 here...... drove my R yesterday, visited some buddies and spotted a 991.1 C4S at the gas station. Itās a cabrio but still a sweet ride:
Congrats on the R. As a P-car owner here, I also still love my ā17 R as well. Enjoy yours and thatād be cool if you can add another 911 in the future!
I agree that a square setup for the track will aid the 350.... but even w/o, we all know by now it can still perform quite well at a high level. Randy as a pro can obviously elicit the smallest details to the Nth degree (in regards to what a car needs improvement of) on the track.
Iām biased...
Good choices. The 996 GT3 with the Mezger is the best bang for the buck P-GT car right now... and close is the 7.1 version but Iām seeing them breaching $100K (wholesale) sooner or later.
This past spring I rented a meteor gray 997.1 Carrera S manual cab via Turo for a few days in CA.... that...
@torque124- At least you see Porsches galore there.... there are plenty here in South FL also but in this land of pretentiousness- there are Lambos and McLarens all over. Phones whip out for those types of cars.... but I buy my cars for myself- not to bling and leisurely cruise as an eye candy...
^ I think you're one of the select or handful of unique exceptions. Kudos to you of course, and nice rides too! You do save a bundle by DIY'ing.... many Ferrari owners still rely on indy or dealership shops for maintenance and repairs. So the parts/labor costs compared to a Mustang or 350 is...
I agree with that of course. And like what Austin stated above, the Ferrari will be a maintenance money pit (while the Ford and Porsche have greater reliability and lower upkeep costs).... plus another unfortunate issue with out-of-warranty Ferrari cars is once the miles accrue, the value...
Lol.... beetle. Okkkk, good one as always {insert sarcasm}.
Both the GT350 and a late model 911 will run rings around the F430.... and I don't dislike 430's at all. The Scud is easily one of my top favs.
Joking aside, they're really different types of sports cars though.... similar...
This unfair comparison was a no-brainer. But it also continues to show how amazing and highly-praised the GT350/GT350R is.... and still a top notch bang for the buck. I believe that's the unwritten message of this head to head.
And yes.... I can imagine a new 992 can clock ridiculously fast...
Nice to see some more Race Reds here.... but they all look sharp in any of the available colors.
Here's my 2017 R (HR310)... have it for 2.5 yrs now and still like-new. :)
Spring 2017:
2019:
This specific R sold at Manheim this past August and was exclusive for Ford dealers only..... it was also a previous Ford Corporate Fleet (6/13/2016) registered vehicle. Retail price is not bad... not too far away from wholesale. Make a fair offer in-between if I was a buyer...
