  1. Best oil now that Pennzoil changed formula?

Hmmm... I'll look into that... But I dunno, it seemed pretty definitive that they changed it. And it seemed like they confirmed it in their response
  2. Best oil now that Pennzoil changed formula?

Ive decided Im switching to Amsoil... theres a place pretty close to me that uses it. Pennzoil Ult Plat was great because it was almost as good as Amsoil, but at a lower price.... and easier to find in stores. Its over Pennzoil... we had a good run, but you've changed man....
  3. Parking brake adjustment issues

Ive been planning on getting my car up in the air and doing this myself as well (when the weather cools down) Ive heard guys say to put some loctite on the threads to keep it from backing out again. Thats my plan as well
  4. Best product to restore all the black plastic bits

Cerakote.... Cant speak to the wipes, but I used the Pro kit, works way better than anything else... and by far. https://cerakoteceramics.com/trim-coat-professional-pack-4-oz-bottle/?srsltid=AfmBOorSPKXe4b_uthjKGNoFg0SBha_Dn9akGW_IK7V7d8SmCzvGFLou Most of those products are gone after a few...
  5. After quite a few crappy fitting modifications and losing thousands of dollars on them I am selling my car.

Yup.... clear coat problems is exactly what I had. Within like 2 months the parts always got ghost-y white splotches all over them. Tried polishing, and other things, but the spots remained... Fitment issues were minimal, but yea, they were there too.... I replaced my side skirts with...
  6. After quite a few crappy fitting modifications and losing thousands of dollars on them I am selling my car.

Damn... thats sad man. Ive put quite a bit of aftermarket mods into mine and its actually kind of the reason I dont see myself selling it. I wasted quite a bit of money on parts I regret, but they ended up becoming a lesson... I learned to be careful about carbon fiber exterior parts...
  7. When to give up when it comes to car repairs

Its good that you're concerned, and you care about something being off.... but If youre that worried, just drive normally and dont push the car.... Ive seen shit on youtube... Concept 3, etc... Idiots are out there driving around with crucial suspension components broken and/or not connected to...
  8. When to give up when it comes to car repairs

You just gotta keep digging... Ive solved every single problem Ive had with my car simply by searching this forum obsessively enough until I found someone else who had the same problem. This place is an invaluable resource to have, and the older your S550 is, the more likely youll be able to...
  9. When to give up when it comes to car repairs

Your best bet is to search around this forum and around the internet.... Theres always someone else thats had your problem, and found a solution, and shared it with others... you just have to be willing to put in the time to look around and find it...
  10. Is this a bearing issue? Annoying creaking noise around wheel hub.

This SCREAMS wheel hub to me.... Had the same click a few years back, went online, bought the part, had it installed.... sound gone. Did a lot of research on this... Saw a lot of chatter about the axle nuts, heard some guys had the shop advise them to replace the entire wheel axle... Happened...
  11. Window trim

https://cerakoteceramics.com/trim-coat-professional-pack-4-oz-bottle/?srsltid=AfmBOorSPKXe4b_uthjKGNoFg0SBha_Dn9akGW_IK7V7d8SmCzvGFLou Ive tried a lot of these plastic trim restorers.... They usually wear off in a few days. Just took this picture; the light colored blob there is a spot that I...
  12. What to clean tires with before shine products?

I go with the Dura-dressing tire shine.... As prep for the dressing, they sell a tire degreaser that strips everything off the tire before you apply the dressing. https://dura-coating.com/collections/tires/products/24oz-dura-cleaner-tire-cleaner-degreaser-worlds-best Be careful... I spray it on...
  13. Protecting a street parked car.

Oh I agree man... I thought I gave him some good advice, especially considering the driveway neighbors hit him before... which means theyre highly likely to do it again the next time theyre distracted... But when he pushed back, I simply didnt argue with him... thats all. I think theres a...
  14. Protecting a street parked car.

If you'd looked carefully, you would see that I DID give him advice earlier in the thread...😘
  15. Protecting a street parked car.

Dude came here for advice on how to protect his car from getting hit... I dont think telling him to sell his car and/or "pull himself up by his bootstraps" is a productive direction to take the conversation. Renting is BS... I dont believe in paying someone elses mortgage for them... Buying isnt...
