I found what region of memory it was stored in and replaced it, I have to get the engineering code cracked to actually do a legit tear down of the software.
Unit came today, installed it, was successful in enabling screen mirroring and changing the boot menu logo. Cracking the engineering code so anyone can flash updates.
Sounding more and more like they stole someone elses product, got to love Chinese markets.
If they provide the engineering password, or even better the full source code, could easily fix any and all bugs.

That would be the goal, unofficial patches that can be sideloaded easily. Seem that this model has an "engineering mode" and comes with a USB IN line, so it may be just as simple as plugging in a thumbstick.

I decided to go ahead and get this unit, as soon as it arrives I will be tearing apart the actual software to see how much customization I can get it and fix any bugs that may be effecting people.
