This won't last. That reading is left over from the pump gas. Reset the trip odo and you'll see about 10.5 mpg on e85.
ouch. So it will be about 40 miles less per fill up?

e85 is exempt from Gov. Brown's latest gasoline tax.

Yup. But when you're paying $1 less per gallon it's really a moot point.

Cuomo is just as bad if not worse. I went from getting around 12mpg on full E85 to around 17mpg on lastest joy ride with 39.5% alch (guessing a bit over a gallon of E85 left in tank when i filled up on 93).

It's the fuel cost per mile that counts, so if E85 is 30% less in cost, and the fuel mileage goes down by less than 30% then you're saving fuel costs. But obviously, guys here aren't going E85 for that purpose so fuel economy is mostly a moot factor.

Right, I’m shooting for 12-15mpg not 22-25mpg lol

Actually I don’t even pay attention to mpg couldn’t tell ya what mine is

Agreed.. I average 10.5-11.5 mpg on E85. All highway driving I get 16mpg if I’m lucky. It’s work it though.

If fuel economy is a concern, don’t go E85.

Nah its not I was happy when I saw 13.5 little sad when he said 10.5 it was like I was given a sundae then the cherry was snatched off the top lol, but the highest I ever got was 15.8 with my driving on the winter gas. Summer gas the highest was 14.7 and 14.0 after the tune. I only drive 10 miles to work and only 8 of that is freeway. So I will take the extra smile on my face over MPG's.

I still get better MPG on E85 in the mustang than I do on 87 in my truck, so doesn't bother me.

We have E85 on all stations more or less here in Sweden.
But with the luck I have had with cars I don't dare to tune the car.
Would love it though as the cars in EU have less HP and NM to start off.

Also not sure if Lund have tunes for the Euro/Swedish market. A flex tune would be awesome. As I will be daily the car and during winter it can get really cold.

My Tuned Ecoboost F-150 gets almost double the fuel economy (21-22mpg) compared to my GT on E85

E85 here is 40% cheaper than 93, so it's win win, although I don't run straight E85.

Engine Masters did a moderately interesting segment on e85. They compared it to 114 octane race gas on a carbureted 760 hp bigblock Chevy. Significant increase in low-midrange torque and hp. No peak gain. This was probably the worst case scenario for e85 given that the detonation issue was completely eliminated from the equation with so much octane, yet it was still superior. That would make it an even more compelling choice when the alternative is 91.
