Hey i wanted to see what everyones cylinder head temps are usually with a supercharger?

i have a roush supercharger with 79mm pulley on 91oct, with whipple oversized heat exchanger and mishimoto radiator. It's getting pretty hot here in AZ 110+ and today and yesterday i've been seeing cylinder head temps up to 238 and thats in traffic. not pushing it hard. its been staying around 220ish. is this normal? to hot?

I have a ROUSH Phase 2 on the stock tune. I do use a 170 thermostat and my temps never go any higher than 207. Then again I’m in Michigan and the hottest it has been is about 97 here.

Are you using the 170 thermostat?

I don't see 200°

Roush here as well. Lund tuned, 82mm pulley, 170 t-stat, Velossa Tech big mouth, fans kick on when my CHT's hit 181*. My CHT's rarely hit 200* (unless I lug it in 6th gear), or when I get on it. Normal driving and stop n go traffic my average CHT's range between 187*- 196*. But I'm in Pennsylvania also, we don't get Arizona high temps, or as much humidity as the southern boys.

Mine never hits 200. Usually 190 . I have 170 therm with tuning to match. That seems too hot.

I will see 200° if I run her hard, then come to a stop and idle for a few minutes. But it will start to drop.

I watched my temps on my slow, stop and go drive home last night with ambient temps around 100. CHT varied between 200 and 220.

Tough to compare when your over 110 and some of us are only seeing 90's.

It's really an order of magnitude thing.

What are you running for coolant? Might not hurt to shift your blend more towards 75%water/25% coolant based on where you are.

if you want low temps in traffic, remove the rear coping and the battery cover and the weather strip underside of hood.
Should get you at least 10F lower in stop n go traffic.

Remove wiper blades to pull coping. Super easy.

Check your local weather station ambient temperatures with those numbers. Is that at 110F ambient or 70F?
June in Canada? 75-80F?
It comes down to temp rise above ambient.
120F over ambient would be 230-235F ish at 110F in Phoenix.

My CHTs stay below 205 unless I'm in 90°+ stop & go traffic or racing.

I have a Reische 170° thermostat and OEM coolant.

I'm going to try this Mishimoto Liquid Chill coolant additive to see if it helps keep temps down in traffic. Also upgrading my turbo blankets.

200 to 220 is normal for 90 plus weather and cht are higher then the actual motor temps think like 20 degrees

when my car is in the garage all night i pull out to go to work at 630 am my cht is already at 135 just from heat soak all night takes no time at all to get to 190 in 75 degree weather and high humidity.. but it stays there or about 195 till i romp on it

stock t stat is i think 190 maybe even 195 for emissions crap ford did to make them meet standards

I'm N/A but see very similar results with the Reisch 170 and Lund tune. It was about a 15 degree difference from the stock thermostat and Lund tune. I have also noticed the ECT and CHT are much closer than before.
