I took apart a Premium bezel and a base bezel to look at the boards and there was something obvious that was different. But that was last April, I forget what it was. When Zack was 3D printing bezel adapters it was tried a few times and it trashed the board. The idea was to use the factory base bezel with aftermarket HU's and his bezel adapter.

I get your quest to be unique but there isn't any advantage to keeping a factory base FCIMs HVAC controls and trying to use Sync3 or MFT. You already have something that will bolt in and work flawlessly once its set up via FORScan, which raises another point.. Will the APIM expect certain information from the Premium FCIM to be there?

I ended up buying one with NAV out of another car and didn't need this one any more.

So everything is connected now and I am going through FORSCAN now.


So.....

Steering wheel controls do not work.

Climate controls from the touchscreen do not work.

The time on the Sync screen is --:--

Voice control doesn't work



I have FORSCAN extended, I can hook up to it, and I have the VINS of my original car, a 2016 GTPP with the same options, and the VIN of the 2016 Escape where it came from.

I do a compare from the 2016 Escape to the 2016 GTPP. All kinds of mismatches of course in the comparator. I only changed the APIM so that should be the only module I should need to reprogram.

So I should be able to just line up any differences within the APIM and get them all saying what the 2016 GTPP is and I should be good.

Correct?

SW controls and CC are related to an MS-CAN issue. How did you access those?

I haven't yet. All of those items still don't work.

I mean how did you access those circuits. The MS-CAN, how did you tag onto it? Your problem is that the APIM isn’t receiving communication from the Medium Speed CAN.

I broke down and I am just paying Dan to do the programming via email. I have so much going on and really do not have the time for this.

I wish I did because I like figuring stuff like this out.

I know I could have just figured it all out with your/forums help but I literally just do not have the time. I am taking two Master's classes right now and it soaks up every spare minute. The wife was even looking at me cross-eyed when I wasn't working on my classes today.


Just so much to do and the damn clock is always ticking.

I would have just given you the line by line code for free. That’s what I do for harness customers. FORScan isn’t a secret anymore. There’s no reason to pay for it.
