Ok sales manager finally got back to me. $4,000 off including $1500 rebate. Ran it by my wife and she said at that price and distance you might as well pony up the extra $10k for a base 2017 GT350 in Magnetic I been stalking out of state lol.

Yes stanglife at this price a base GT350 (no sync3 or heated and cooled seats) is close enough in price that it is worth it since to me all the premium stuff on this PP2 adds no performance value to me.

Notice it says 3651 for vehicle weight? Thats gotta be wrong right?
Do you plan tracking the car? Cause unless the GT350 has the track pack which adds the oil cooler, it will overheat and go into limp mode. The PP2 will not. If you're just purchasing to cruise and drive with the occasional drag race and you got the extra $10k then go for it.

2017+ GT350's all have track pack. Did the 2016's not even have an oil cooler + no transmission and differential cooler? Wtf even a GTPP has an oil cooler.

I'm not going to buy this PP2 but at this price it is close enough to a GT350 that it would be crazy to not to take the GT350 over it if you could find a deal on a GT350. That's like having a fully loaded SS 1LE or a base ZL1 for only $10k more.

I'm just thinking out loud basically.
Maybe just the 2016 GT350, I have first hand experience with this year. It did not have cooler, only the track pack option got it and the gt350r. Perhaps Ford got smart and changed it for 2017. Lots of unhappy 2016 owners and a few law suits over that. Let's us know what you get?

ALL GT350s HAVE oil coolers.
The 2016 base and tech pack didnt have tranny and diff coolers.
Limp mode is a tranny issue.
ALL 2017s have tranny and diff coolers.
Jury is still out on the 2018 GTPP 2 and if there are going to be tranny and diff temp issues from extended track sessions. We will know by summer.

$10k is a lot of money. Isn't this price essentially only a couple thousand than the car you had ordered? Personally, the engine issues I have heard about with the GT350 were enough to dissuade me from dropping a lot of extra cash into one.

But then you have Aluminum corrosion, oil leaks/burning and reliability to deal with.

:headbonk:

You do get the certified warranty though, that's nice.

The reliability of the 5.2 is my biggest issue. For being a small run they seems to have as many issue threads as the 5.0. Maybe they are just more active/vocal though.

I would drop the 401A group and lojack personally. That saves you like $3K.

I am finding some gently used 2017 GT350's near me as well but they are in the $55-58K range. I just wont track the car enough to justify the price difference. But there is somethign about that GT350. Very cool cars.

Keep in mind with that extra 10k you also get reliability issues with the fpc motor in the Shelby whereas the PP2 has the tried and tested coyote in it. Just food for thought

Yeah, I feel like there's a lot of "curb appeal" to the GT350, for me, it's all about a car that satisfies some objective type metrics, but also pushes the buttons on some very subjective criteria.

I'm a convertible owner (awesome ride, '16 GTPP), but if I were to look into a coupe, I'd almost for sure give a lightly used '17 GT350 a look (vs. a GT PP2).

bootlegger with TTL this PP2 will be about $7k more than my ordered base GTPP2.
thill444 if you look on cargurus there's so many new GT350's at MSRP or slightly below. Almost all of them in the midwest-East coast.

I'm not gonna buy a GT350 but I was just comparing at this maxed out PP2 price. My car has to be my DD, my wife wouldn't let me $43k or $60k on a car and just have it sit in the garage 28 days out of the month.

For my needs a regular ol' 5.0 is plenty. I believe Ford engineered the hell out of these since they also had to go into a truck that can haul 10,000 pounds. Ford just gice us a Bullitt power pack.
I have had a decent amount of East Coast dealers tell me the price on their site is "mis listed" and they have either at least MSRP+ a markup or MSRP+ a dealer package.

Yes I have been seeing a few under MSRP and many @ MSRP, but a new one even $1K or so below MSRP is a lot more than a fairly loaded brand new 18 GT Premium with PP1. I am seeing those discounted $3-5K near me before negotiation. With taxes, etc its well over a $20K difference.

I love the idea of a GT350 but in terms of practicality the GT might be better for me. I already worry everytime I park my C7 in the parking lot and I bet I would worry more about a GT350.
