Erm...those updates are so significant they pretty much make it a whole different car.

Aa for rivals being better, what rivals? Show me what else you can get for that money and I'll show you a car most people wouldn't even glance at never mind stare and drool over like the Mustang.

They're grasping at straws. The "Rivals" are a 240i and bog standard Audi A5, which is laughable at best. The only rival at this price point would be the Kia Stinger GTS for something big, rear driven and with more than four cylinders.

To be honest, if What Car? had recommended a Mustang, i think i might just have had to sell mine. There are some magazines from which you just don't want their approval

So the Audi A5 gets 4 stars against the 3 stars for the Mustang and the summary for the A5 is that it's similarly spacious but not such good value for money! The A5 is a completely different car

... basically to compare a Mustang GT to ANY other European car is not real!

the Mustang is unique and THAT is the reason I bought one - not because it compares to anything else!

I’m sure the M2 is a great car. But it’s just another BMW imo.

Its the only one I'd buy though. Its what the M3 used to be; small, fast and a bit bonkers.

Agreed, its only weakness is the engine, they need to ditch those turbochargers and start making race engines again and putting them in road cars.

M2 CS could be quite impressive though, got M4 engine, so still sounds junk, but more power, more handling tweaks and might even weigh less, hearing it won't be hugely much more expensive either.

A few Beemer fans on here then, what ever floats your boat as they say. As an older gent on here cough,cough my love for BMW faded when they hit the markers with the E36.

An original M3 (E30) is definitely on my Lottery list, great fun watching them in touring and rally car guise back in the 80’s.
