Hi guys , I got a 16 GT and wanna go full bolt on , I'm thinking of getting ford racing 47lb injectors and a E85 tune after I'm done with all the mods, in the long run is E85 bad for our motors? Anyone that uses it daily can you give ur opinion and experience? Thanks in advance

E85 will push the engine a little harder, but not to the point like forced induction does. Since pretty much all gasoline has some corn based fuel in it now manufacturers have been using better quality sealing materials that hold up to the ethanol. Also, aluminum is used much less in fuel system parts to avoid corrosion from the ethanol. I'm no expert, but parts have evolved to accommodate the newer fuels.

Here's a decent article on the subject. Do some searches for more to read https://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-efficiency/alternative-fuels/ethanol-damage-engine.htm

My biggest concern has always been quality/consistency of the pump E85. I could buy various sealed drums of race E85 or E98, but the cost of those products isn't too far off from other unleaded race fuels. Plus the race gas isn't as prone to water absorption since it's much lower in ethanol or even ethanol free. May matter less on daily driven cars.

So if i daily my car with E85 it's better than once a week drive or race , it's an easy cheaper way to get an extra 15 whp but don't wanna have problems I love the car and plan on driving for atleast another 5 years

Daily is probably fine, I can't imagine it being a big problem with moisture absorption if you're cycling through it. There are plenty of flex fuel cars that get driven on E85, and afaik ours are fine with it.

Cool guys guess I'll do it soon, I'm aiming for 440- 450 whp NA
Currently I got Borla catback, Airaid intake and tune , got 411 whp , thinking a gt350 intake another 10 plus higher rpm gains , injector e85 should be good for 15 and headers with high flow cats another 15 . Should do low 12 high 11's

If anything, the E85 will make the engine last longer as runs cooler and limits detonation. The only thing would be if the large amount of ethanol in the fuel will mess with the rubber lines and seals along the way, but I have not seen anything to that regard in modern cars.

My car, on a dynojet, made 453rwhp and 400rwtq SAE corrected. Granted, could be a happy dyno but Ive been using this shops dyno since day one with my car so at least I can see how mods work in this realm.

My car is a 2015 GT auto with 3.55 gearing. Mods are a JLT, GT 350 IM, 1 3/4” long-tubes, x-pipes/no cats, axle back exhaust, a Circle D 4c 3800 stall converter and custom tuned for E85. I am sure a 6 speed would show more power on a dyno.

Sounds like fairly accurate #'s not a happy dyno. Autos seem to do well in recent years when it comes to hp loss to the wheels. You have a nice flowing exhaust set up, IM, and the E85. I would have guessed your power would be right around where it is.

E85 is great for keeping your motor and fuel system clean since it’s alcolhol based. If you google internal engine images on gasoline and e85 you will see how much cleaner the pistons and valves are with e. You can let your car sit for periods of time without issue on e85...my jet ski sits for 6+ months with e in the tank without issue every winter.
