Well--at $85,000--by the time you pay tax on that--you're gonna be at or near a $100,000. Add extended warranty, that's another $4,000. BTW. Ford sell those to the dealer for around $900 for the GT350. Don't get jacked at the $3,750 extended warranty price. Same goes for the 8 year extended service package.
I paid 450 for 8 years 36,000 miles. also sales tax here is 5%.
still right at 90k with tax.
I wouldn't even get the warranty upgrade on the CPC. I got it on the FPC just because of what it is.
while it's not 100k, 90k out the door is still a chunk of change, especially after it loses 5k after driving it off the lot.

The R even had lighter, thinner glass in the windows than the standard 350.
Are you speaking of the current GT350? If so, this is new information to me. Where did you get this information? Thanks!

I like to disassemble things.
You really have all types of issues with comprehension. The 1967 GT500 had a 427 in it.In 1969 ford did the BOSS 429.Last year a rumor came out that FORD was gonna do a 7.0 in a or some future trucks. From there started the anniversary talk of 50th year for the GT500 and or for the BOSS 429 as well.KEY words from that are rumors, anniversary TALK,and possible new 7.0.I never said anywhere that FORD was gonna make a special motor for a new GT500.:D:cheers::ford:
You're right. I can't comprehend how bad our education system has become.

I just said 427 because that was used in the old GT500.If they did a BOSS 429 it would still be a 427 just called a BOSS 429.the 2013 GT500 is said to be a 5.8,but it is also said its really a 355,so just a little bigger than a 351,so the 7.0 MAYBE just a little bigger and they can just call it a 429,and be within reason with both models.:ford:
I like turtles.

Yeah...the dealers were trying to get whatever they could...they didn't jump off the showroom floor at those hyper-inflated prices. The (R) car is going to be super collectible. There may never be another Ford that got that kind of hand built and custom material attention. The R even had lighter, thinner glass in the windows than the standard 350. An (R) new at around the same price as a GT500 would be a better deal for someone who wants a limited edition car, that really was unique--and is faster than most Ferrari models on the track. I drive the R car daily, even if it's just to the coffee house and back. The unique balance and craftsmanship is so noticeable every time I make that first corner in sport mode, a reminder what a great job they did with that car. Having said that--it appears the 500 will get a lot of the 'uniqueness' of the 350 series--including suspension, carbon fiber wheels, heads up tach display, etc.
The GT350R uses the exact same glass as the non-R GT350. Period.

Actually I think in this case given that the 10 speed is available and they have had ample time to work with programming and beefing it up it would be a no brained to offer it. Understanding that a DCT may be an option I consider it unlikely a lower cost A10 unit could not boost sales at a lower cost, and pay for itself. That said the market is saturated with vehicles the measure of which we have never really seen in this abundance. Compition will be strong. We shall see.

The 1967 GT500 had a 428, not a 427.

A handful of owners had their dealer swap in a 427 for them, and some owners did that swap themselves. And there was, of course, the Super Snake. But the OEM engine was a 428.

There is not a chance in hell the new GT500 will be $90-100k. You can buy brand new ZL1 1LE's for $72k. Why would Ford charge $20k over its direct competition? GT500 is going to be an under $70k car.

Thanks for jumping in and setting the record straight.

Where do people get some of this information such as a 427 C.I. engine in a '67 GT500 let alone making statements that the Boss 429 was only produced for 1 year.

As you and I both know the '67 and '68 GT500's came with 428 Police Interceptor engines and then in April 1968 Ford came out with the 428 Cobra Jet engine for the '68KR's thus called in some circles '68 1/2's with the 428 CJ continuing on for '69 and '70 for the GT500.

For what it is worth, given what Ford announced this week relative to 2018 profit forcasts and the fact that the stock got blistered, any potential variables and relative to the above mentioned associated costs........I'd suspect just got less variable. Word has been coming in from the very top to all divisions, there is going to be a LOT of belt tightening.
