Well known local Ford tuner/modifier/manufacturer Rob Herrod has put both automatic and manual 2018 GT's on the dyno.

Very impressive results....306kW (410hp) at the hubs for the ten speed auto, and 315kW (422hp) for the six speed manual, up 50 plus kW on the earlier model.

Clearly the export Mustangs aren't detuned to suit local regs :).

Herrod is known to have a dyno which produces figures about 5-10% higher than other dyno's so I would take this with a grain of salt until other providers start tuning the cars.

Maybe, but he's comparing apples with apples (ie: 2017 Mustangs on the same dyno). 50kW is a decent improvement.

That's also at the hubs, which reads much higher than at the wheels. But yeah, good result I guess, will see what they put down at the strip for real numbers

The benefit of a hub is it at least provides pretty comparable results due to eliminating a lot of the variables with roller dynos. IIRC, roughly 10% higher readings than a roller dyno.

There a great comparison tool imo.

Okay so a reputable shop has put an Auto 2018 on the dyno and their resullts showed 271.9rwkw.

A very long way from Herrod and other shops who use happy Dyno's.

By way of comparison my old car (2015 Manual GT) on this dyno made 246.9kw stock.

So that is a difference of 25kw

They also took more pictures of the car, I wonder if the new owners realise they have a PLASTIC sump

So thats about 35kw at the flywheel. Which pretty much lines up with Fords quoted numbers. A worthwhile increase in any case. Descent power for a compliant 5.0 N/A engine.

That sounds bang on. Closer to 280 for the manual then.

US cars are seeing stock 18 numbers around 420whp for manuals, which is the same as intake/exhaust/tune on the 15-17. We are seeing 280wkw give or take for same mods on 15-17, so by that logic 272 for the stock auto is on the money

Hubs always read higher than rolling road, but provide a better comparison between other hub dynos than the rollers do even between the exact same dyno on a different day or even restrapped.

That being said, i always felt the 2018's seemed high. But even Mustang Motorsport i swear said they got around the 240rwkw mark consistently for 15-17's but hit 300 with the 2018's which i thought was odd?

280rwkw is a bit low for complete exhaust, intake and tune i thought? I'd have thought closer to or even over 300 based on other places i've seen

I did say give or take. Autos are around 280

Manuals can get up around 290, definitely not 300 unless on E85.

This is based on the dyno days our club has run

But dynos aren't 100% right every time, depends on the conditions.

I'm just having a look at the results from the last one, which was a hot October day.

Several cars with those mods pulled mid 260s, and my car pulled 259 with just a catback. They can't be trusted imo lol

Just wanted to share my Dyno results for my 2016 GT with Roush CAI, 2018 intake manifold, Ford performance exhaust with x pipe and tune by Mustang Motorsport..Max Power= 275.7 kW (at wheels)
Im glad I found this thread as it puts it in good comparison to stock cars (about 30 kW up). The 2018 manifold is good bang for buck IMO with MM having them for about $500 as takeoffs from cars they upgrade. Interested to hear if anyone has results for similar mods?
