I finally picked out my wheels for a staggered set up and now have narrowed it down to 2 tire choices.....

Nitto NT555 G2
or
Mickey Thompson Street Comp

Front 255/35/20
Rear 305/35/20

My vehicle.....

2017 Mustang GT 6spd Manual 3:55 axle
Roush Phase 2
727hp
610tq

I know any street tire with this power will struggle, but this will be a street car only!

I just put Nitto NT555 G2 last week. It feels great! I can floor it now with less fishtail
But I started to feel a left pull since the nittos. I am still trying find out if it the tires or alignment issue.w
no idea about Mickey Thompsons

N555g2 is easily the best of those 2, lots of better options out there though. I have owned both, then went to mpss, mpss are worth the price difference.

I have that exact setup in the MT sport comps with a whipple stage 2 and they are 100% completly worthless if you put your foot into the gas beyond half throttle. Im so frustrated with them I plan to order something else for the rears even though they only have 4k miles on them cause it just dangerous....back end wants to come around to the left every time I give it half throttle or more. Get the nitto, michelin or a drag radial.

On AM the Nitto g2 305/35/20 are $276 yet the 315/35/20 are $247. Weird that they are cheaper.

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
I switched my mpss for a set of G2s TBH, I cant tell the difference.
I don't track the car and I don't drive like an asshole. The G2s were everything I was looking for in a street tire.

The only thing I miss about the mpss, was the extra lip to help protect the wheels from curb rash.

My street comps were garbage. The car was all over the road, and my car was stock. Tuned the 555g2 struggled, but the mpss straight hooked.

I ran two sets of NT555 G2 on my 2016. One in a 255/275 and a 255/315 set up and they were nothing but great tires. But I think you are comparing two different purpose tires. I would consider the NT55 G2 a street/handling tire. They do very well for spirited driving on curvy mountain roads, they do decently well in other weather conditions. I even had to drive them in the snow on the mountains and with proper throttling they never once kicked out on me. They also have a very good wear rating. I can't speak for the MT but I figured those were more of a street drag tire.

neither tire will work for you if you want to use any throttle. theyre slightly better than stock. you have to decide your balance of tread life and traction. also traction straight line or traction in turns.. you can balance them as you see fit

if you cant tell a difference between G2s and MPSS youre not driving

What size wheels were you running those 315s on?

I have that exact setup and those tires are awful to the point of being dangerous when supercharged. I'd change the order if possible. The sport comps are simply worthless, get the nitto g2.
