You didn't learn your lesson after the first RX-7? :p
lol

He doesn't get it that brand loyalty is not a detriment. It shows the ability to decide and commit, without constant wishy-washy flip flopping.

Oh well, ignore list now expanded to 5.

I am an ex-wankel owner. Such a fickle engine. I even had one of the simpler ones (1982).

Never had a major issue with any of them (engine wise outside of normal repairs). Two of them had over 100K miles.

The key to them was checking the oil and always having a quart in the car. I wuold check once a week. They liked to drink oil when pushed hard and many people ignored this. It's not for everyone but I loved those cars and wished I would have kept my FD. I was in the military and kept getting sent places so sold it and regretted it ever since.

One thing I like about the Coyote and Vodoo motors are the higher rev range and broad power band.

Sounds like how we ended up with a 70 year-old loony as POTUS.

"well he's running on the Republican party so...." *unzips*
Not sure this is the best place for political debate since not everybody be will agree with your view. But if you must continue, at least keep it classy.

Some interesting fact's, the big willow time for 2017 GT350R is 1.28.29, exactly the same as the 2017 SS 1LE. Will the 2018 GT PP2 be as quick as the GT350R ???

Again, another biased uninformed statement by a GM fan.

Consider this, the SS1LE and ZL1 ran back to back at big willow. The ZL1 ran a 126.16 and the 1LE ran a 1:28.29 ( A 2.13 second difference).

The ZL1 ran head to head at big willow against the GT350R and ran a 127.90 to the GT350Rs 128.29 (a 0.39 second difference).

The SS1LE is 2.13 seconds slower than the ZL1 and the GT350R is 0.39 seconds slower than the ZL1. The SS1LE is by no means as fast around big willow as a GT350R….lay down the crack pipe.

The PP2 should be nearly as quick as the 1LE…and still slower than the GT350R by a wide margin.

Different days.

The day they ran the GT350R around that track against the ZL1, the ZL1 was 1.74 seconds slower than a time it had run at that same track on a better day.

Temperature can have a huge effect on times, as well as the track being green vs clean.

They even made mention of this in the article.

The PP2 isn't going to catch the 350R. It's got more power, bigger brakes, more tire and more aggressive suspension.

Nice time for the SS. What size motors is Chevy putting in those things nowadays?

Oh that explains a lot. Different days can certainly skew the results heavily. It's why I never really pay attention to track times. All the manufacturers have their tricks and know how to spin things.

One of the car mags even published a test with a GT350 that had heavily glazed brakes. Pretty poor "journalism", but at least they published that caveat along with all the times that were way off from what a GT350 would normally be expected to run.

Modern journalism is just pretty garbage overall... case in point, 1LE vs PP1

I remember thinking, maybe the testers set the bar too high for the ZL1. Despite less HP and considerably less torque, the R was 200-lbs lighter. The article praised both cars, but it was obvious that the MT test crew was surprised at how close the performance was.

"Regardless, the point is that the ZL1—at least on paper—should be much quicker than the R. But it wasn’t." - MT
