I'm getting ready to purchase a new 2018 within the next month or so. How soon will it be before dealerships start heavily discounting 18's since you can start ordering 19's next month?

I wonder if rebates will go up next month?

Got my base 6 speed GT for 30.4k before taxes and registration. That is 5.5k off MSRP.

Don't feel bad about your price, dealers don't sell cars at a loss.

MSRP for a base '18 GT manual is 35,095 + $900 destination = $35,995.

Invoice is $33,165 + $900 destination = $34,065.

Subtract 3% off MSRP for dealer hold back ($35,995 x 3% = $1,079) and you get $32,986.

The $1,500 rebate is the only one most people will qualify for, which leaves it at $31,586.

But no dealer will go near that price without either money down or a plus trade in from the buyer.

This is reality.

At a minimum everyone should be able to get x-plan pricing.

Reality is not relevant when we're talking about car prices on the Internet. :D
Haggling is easy. I like to walk into the dealership wearing the worst clothes I own, and act like the poors. Then I tell 'em what I want and what I am willing to pay (usually $15k under MSRP). We get into it a bit and then I tell 'em I'm walking out...then I like to flash 'em mah pay stub (because who doesn't carry a physical paper pay stub around all the time) to show 'em I got paid for my week of construction labor. Then they beg me to come back and usually up giving me the car for free and throw in an extended warranty, and some new clothes.

Works every time.

Seem like one of the large volume dealers around me is knocking around 2K off.

Get a quote from Koons, their prices will be 1200-1500 dollars higher than their advertised WoW price due to "freight" fees and dealer fees.

Dealer Fees are pretty normal but if your state has a cap on that, you might be able to save even more.

This is the quote I got from Koons quote: (going off memory here): 29350 + 900 dollar freight + 300 dollar dealer processing fee = $30,550. If you need me to forward that email so you don't even have to talk to anyone, just let me know. I'll just remove my name and other personal info.

I took this to quote my dealership and not only did they matched it, they beat it by 150 dollars. Took a little bit of haggling since their sales manager said they could beat it but tried to hook on a extra 600 dollar dealer fee on top of 30,550. I told them to eat dirt since they promised to match the final price.
