Hey Guys.

I have a European 2017 Mustang GT. I also have the OEM 2016 hood vents with blinkers along with the OEM harness.

My question is, is there some where I can simply plug in this harness and get the hood vent blinkers to work?

Alternatively, has anybody got a 2016 mustang and is able to take pictures of where the harness is plugged in?

Im hoping ford left the connection unplugged for the 2017 mustangs. I know 2015 would require a retrofit but im hoping that they didn't revert back to the 2015 wiring and the connection is open and its a simple case of just plug and play.

If not I have the thread from jmeo which tell me how to retrofit but I'd like to avoid that.

Thanks in advance!

I was under the hood yesterday & traced the harness down to behind the driver's side wheel well. You could maybe pop the liner out & look down there for a connection.

will be trying to find it today and see what comes up. Unsure If I have the time to take the liner off. I might put a query through my dealer when the car is next in for its suspension upgrades to see if they can speak to ford and find out if its doable.

Did anyone ever discover if the same procedure works for 2017 GT's?

I just ordered black lighted heat extractors for my 2017 and I am waiting for them to come in before ordering any other parts, including the harness.

Had a quick look around and couldn't find a spot where these would plug in on a 2017

wondering if anyone has the electrical wire diagram for a 2016GT with the hood blinkers and a diagram of the 2017

otherwise, my dealership will splice them in for me.

Check the install instructions on the aftermarket blinkers. American Muscle carries a couple of brands. That will confirm how they are tied into the existing blinkers from the factory hood harness.

I am aware that the blinkers can be spliced in. The query is whether or not the 2017 Mustang GT uses the same wiring harness as the 2016 Mustang GT thus allowing us to simply buy the necessary harness and OEM blinkers and get them to work on a plug and play basis.

Any follow up on this? Did you end up splicing them in?

I've not yet tried. I do have the OEM hood vents from a 2016, and I purchased the wiring OEM harness. I've not yet tried the install because I've had other things to work on in the meantime. I thought about buying just the wires used in the Starkey instructions and using that + the OEM harness to make a Macgyvered version.

I’ll be digging into mine soon. I have removed my factory vents with blinkers and I’m wanting to remove the factory harness as well. I’ll pull the liner down and see if there is a plug connection down inside the fender area.

So.

I ended up splicing them in as there was no connection for the One harness to connect into. Very easy job.

I have also spliced in my diode dynamics sequential tri bars and upgraded to coplus sequential indicators.

Check them out on my Insta @King_Cobra_Mustang

And give me follow :D
