Currently researching some pros/cons with an aftermarket wheel/tire setup. Leaning towards the 20x10 / 20x11 setup 275/35 and 315/35, MPPS or 4s. Unfortunately, tires for the 20s set-up aren’t ez on the wallet. Looking for input on why you chose 20 or a 19? Thnxs

It depends on what YOU want more than anything... most go with 20"

If I may actually step in

To my knowledge we have worked on my S550's then anyone else on the board. So if I can help out I would be happy to do so.

The choice comes down to your personal choice, with technology now you can go with either or sizing and be able to achieve looks and performance.

So Allow me to ask you this, minus the tire choice which regardless 20" 275/315 or 19" 285/325 they are both up there in price.

How do you image your car?

Why stagger them? Why not run 275 or 285 all around with some summer tires?
I'm looking to do 19's, maybe a 19x10 all around, unless there's a good reason to go skinnier in the front - how much weight savings do you get from a 19x9.5?

Personally I like the looks of a staggered set up. Again just my opinion but too much width in the front can feel a bit dull and can lead to tramlining.

VIPR01 Talk to Paul. I think you'll find he is very good to deal with and he may be able to help you with some choices that will make 20's more cost effective. Because to me the car looks best with 20's!

The 19x10 will work just fine sir.

For instance I am running staggered wheels but square tires for our Project Ryu GT350 build were doing (streetfighter package).

So its personal preference, and or based on the wheel you desire if it can work staggered great if not then square so thats the debate.

Im jus a advocate for put as much meat as you can under these cars. :headbang:

I have a set of 20" 275/35 front and 315/35 rear. So, let me tell you why i am going with 20"

I was looking at 19" wheel and shopping for tire that go with it. I don't take my car to the track, but I am sometime do some spirit driving on the street, so I don't want to mount crappy tires. I also drive my car a lot!!! I have 2016GT PP and I am already at 101765 miles.. that's right over 100K miles already!

The only Tire that I can find with 315/35 size that has the most thread wear is the All seasons Continental extreme contact DWS06 which has 500 thread wear rating and it only available in 20" size!!! If you are going with 19" I don't think you can find a lot, if any 315 or wider with high thread wear rating. So i hope my info help you decide what size to get!

What is your intended purpose for the vehicle? If you're just going for better looks than the factory wheels than just decide which size looks better to you. Lowering your car will play a big role in how it looks with eithe size as well. To me the 19" looks perfect on our cars and the 20" looks a little too big. Most people think 20's are perfect, just personal preference.

If you're going to be drag racing you'll want as much meat out back as possible so a staggered set of will be fine. If you're into fast corners, road course, track days, and all around great handling go with a 19" squared setup. A 19x10" +35 with 285/35 is a great all around package.

I went with 19's because I didn't like the thin sidewall on 20's, but 20s seem to have more tire choices out there.

Very happy with my 19x10 and 19x11 MRR M350 wheels.

If you go 35 on the 20" they're actually still pretty thick. Happy thus far with my 285/35/20 + 315/35/20 setup.

What's the limit in sizing you can run without the need to start running additional suspension parts to change camber etc? I have a 18 magneride on order and plan or putting some fpp lowering springs on the car.

Can you run 20" in that setup without the need for extra mods?

Yes as long as you get the offset correct.

Thanks SVT-DADDY. What's the widest you'd be able to run with the correct offset? Was thinking of x9.5 or x10 in the front and x10.5 in the back.
