900 is a bit more? Wow...even 800 would be monstrous in this car. Damn this this is gonna light it up.
Im super surprised with the 3800 lb area, was thinking 3900.

ā€˜Boy Clark, this is just a really big surpriseā€™
LOL
Too funny Jim.

I'm thinking it's going to be between 750-800HP. Torque may be about 650 or so. Thing will be beast with that new TVS 2650 sitting on top of that intake manifold! :headbang: :ford:
Is it January yet?!?

Damn , so may not be the time to add a gen 3 Whipple to a GT 350?(the 15 % off sure is tempting ).Whipple says to expect 780+ rwhp out of the box with their tune on 93.

If I wait on the GT 500 , trade in prices(on the GT 350)are going to tank so it's going to cost a lot more going from a GT 350 to the GT500.

May make more sense to do the Whipple now especially if the GT 500 is "only " going to have a 5.2 with a TVS 2650 on top ?

...and if Whipple says to expect 780 rwhp (880-915 crank depending on drive train loss of 12-15 %) on the GT350's FP 5.2,with a relatively safe tune , then that 900 hp may not be too far fetched for the GT 500's CP 5.2(probably lower compression) with a 2650 TVS.

That lowering of compression comes a big loss of power but also enables to run higher boost, so it gets it back that way.
I'm not sure how much boost they are running with that whipple but at 780WP, it sounds like it's pushing it with stock internals and a OPG is a must.
Thing with tuning is, it doesn't need to pass regulations so you can go to the moon if you want. Ford has to build it so it passes emissions and durrabilty. Not an easy task with 850 or 900 hp. I'm with Tony, 750 to 800. If it's 800 id be astonished and if over 815 id be floored.

On another front Iā€™ve been thinking about Bmacā€™s post about a more powerful version s550 coming for the 2021 year.
Since 2021 is slated for the 650, I find it hard to believe that a S550 would run on the same line. The line is specifically made to hold the chassis of that car isnā€™t it, plus all the components that would be different, it would make for a bear.
With the info Bmac gave us, Iā€™d have to guess that the one made for 2021 is going to be a race version only, No VIN.
Itā€™s proably ultra low production built off line by hand. Sorta like the FP350S
Either that or is got a VIN and is ultra low production, maybe 500 cars total.

New member here. I haven't read through the whole topic, but I was sent some information from someone at Roush. They currently have a 2020 GT500. My source called it a 2020 GT500 "R". The "R" is the stripped down version like the GT350R. My source claims 900HP and 3800 lbs. 5.2L supercharged, no word on transmissions, yet.

...893hp = 666kW

Are we sure this thing isnā€™t getting a wide-body kit, or flared arches?

I hope no flares.

I missed the 2020 part. That's a year later than was hoping. Maybe this is the kicked up version.

I feel like when we think outside of the box, you shut us down! For the 2021 the only thing I can think of would be a TT setup or I suppose a big block DOHC engine. This would be based on the S550 platform correct? They wouldnā€™t release a halo S650 before the base cars

I knew there was a reason I stopped thinking out of the box on this GT500 ;)
The only thing I really would like is a DCT or auto option and 800HP range. Everything else could be just like the GT350 and I'd buy it.

For me Iā€™d like to see a bit more to convince me to purchase early. Such as rear wheel steering, wide body, or more CF to keep weight down, or FI that is more unique then a roots SC. A DCT is fantastic on the track but in the rear world itā€™s not anymore special then the A10.

It certainly would be nice to see some of that stuff.
I'd like to see them change battery location, maybe even some fluid placement in the rear, along with coolers etc. Anything to take the weight off the front of the car. It would be great to have that 150 lbs somehow right on the rear wheels. Helpes get the traction that this behemoth will need if its going to actually do anything other than spin.
I'm sure there will be some sophisticated nanny tech that helps put the power down well, with the auto/dct.
