Hey there folks, is there a big issue or taboo among Ford dealerships with using a different dealer than where you purchased for service?

I like the dealer I bought from - they were a good sales dealer, its just a 1/2 or 3/4 day jaunt to the other side of Phoenix to drop off and pickup. Its just too damn far in my schedule.

How many have done this? I am in North Phoenix - anyone have recommendations? :ford:

They will all be happy to take your money. :)

The only things dealers don't like is fixing each other's mistakes.

Got my mustang from Auto Nation Scottsdale and my 350 from S Carolina.
There are 3 dealerships that are closer to me but IMO the most knowlegeable,
mod-friendly, and trustworthy dealership,so far, has been Sanderson Ford.

You can use any dealership you want but I think the three freebie oil changes
are only good at the purchasing dealership.

LOL, on my prior car, a Mercedes, I had two separate dealers that each kept messing up work. I'd pick up at one dealer and then drop off at the other. It was back and forth for over a year. It was so maddening!

Yup, that's a dealer incentive, not something from Ford.

Short answer is no, there is no difference in getting warranty work done at one vs. another dealer. If they gave you free oil changes with purchase, then that is a different story.

Nope, take it to who treats you and your car the best.

My car has never been serviced at the dealer I bought it from. The dealer who services it is one I can walk back & forth from.

Dealerships make more money in service than sales. They're happy to see everyone.

I use 2 different dealerships for different services. I purchased from a dealership where a friend works and have it serviced at a different dealership that is closer to my house and a much better commute. I have had it serviced at both dealerships so it depends on the type of work and my schedule.

I didn't have any problems at all. Many times the service dept. has no idea what the sales dept is doing anyway, and they don't even know where the car came from to start with. Now that can change if you have a different dealers name plastered on the back. :)
