I know there's a big thread already on the DL vibration, but my question is to other vert owners is if I have the DL vibration or if this is a normal character of our verts.

When I bought it new, GT, I noticed right off it I could feel every ripple in the road and I would get a shimming affect I could feel in the back of the seats. I attribute it to the low profile tires on the 20's and went to 18's which smoothed out the ride a pretty descent amount. Now with the 18's I can still feel that shimming affect from time to time on certain roads, but not near as bad. I don't get that tire out of balance vibration at highway speeds as others have posted. So, is this normal for our cars with the extra bracing or part of the driveline vibration?

Do u feel it in ur seat or ur hands? I get an ever so slight at times, but Im almost positive its a tire balance issue. Im planning on pitching the stock drive shaft when I install the fi in jan/feb.. Im going to take the wheels down to a shop thatll do a true high speed balance as well.

I find the steering picks up everything the road puts out. There is run on the local highway with ripples that feels 10X worse in the Mustang than my DD.

It’s only noticeable to me when I haven’t driven it for a while

Had a real shake off the lot which was fixed with balancing the tires

Mine vibrates in the steering wheel. In trying to track my vib I installed an app called shimmy diagnoser (I don't work for them). It helped me determine if the vib is from the engine, prop shaft or tires. Mine is coming from the prop shaft - what a surprise. It's $23 which is a lot for an app but it's a lot less than the $399 NVH app.

I wonder how that works. The app.

The only vibration I've felt is due to tires. I still have the factory tires on my car, and if the car sits for a week or more it will actually "flat spot" the tires. It takes about 3 miles of driving (not sure if it's distance or warm-up that cures it) to smooth them out again.

This is the first vehicle I've owned that done this, and it's not a Mustang issue but a tire issue. Since I first noticed it I've been able to replicate the condition twice, so next set of tires will be a different brand/model.

My 2017 vibrates a lot. When driving on smooth roads you can place your hand on the windshield frame and feel it. More noticeable with the top up. This is mostly due to less noise and wind turbulence to mask it. I can feel it on the steering wheel as well.

Tires balanced x 3. (not fixed)
2 tires replaced. (not fixed)
Wheels and tires replaced with new set. (not fixed)
Drive shaft replaced. (not fixed. I never drove it, shop said not fixed.)
Waiting on new rear differential to arrive from factory at the moment.

Been in a loaner for 5 weeks now.

My 2015 coupe was smooth as silk.

Same as mine. My rear diff was replaced two weeks ago. When I picked it up, three people at the dealer drove it and said it was smooth as silk. When I took it home... wait for it.... NO CHANGE. I hope you have better luck.

I've been down the new driveshaft and wheel and tire route too. I also had a local alignment & suspension shop balance the tires on the car. Still no change.
When they do the rears, they jack up the car, put it in gear and run the tires at speed. The vibration was clearly evident and the noise was loud as $hit (no road/tire noise to interfere).

They are now trying to find a shop to balance the new driveshaft that the service manager originally said "came balanced from the factory."

If that doesn't work, I'm going with a driveline geometry issue. The transmission and DS yoke are not properly aligned causing the driveshaft to twist and vibrate. I'll take it to a specialist shop to have it fixed. Maybe Steeda. They're about 45 minutes away from me.

I had the driveline replaced in mine, and had the tires balanced 5 times. The 5th time they balanced the tires it fixed it. Maybe this car is just really sensitive to out of balance tires?

Update: New diff installed. Still vibrates. Not as much maybe. The vibration harness says that the detected variance has been eliminated. I asked them to put it on a lift and bring it up to speed. They did and we could not see any vibration in the drive shaft anywhere. The mechanic said the diff had a different yoke than my old one. Came off the 2018 assembly line.

One of the staff has a 17 GT CS Convertible and I asked if I could take it for a spin. She agreed and I drove it about twenty miles. Guess what? It vibrated as much if not more than mine.

Now what? Maybe my expectations are not realistic. I am going to switch to a different brand tire when the opportunity presents and see if that helps.

It feels like a shimmy. I feel it in the steering wheel and windshield frame. Not much in the seat really.

I definitely have it, mine seems to come in around 72-73 mph. I'm gonna try loosen the hanger bearing as recommended and the hose clamp and see what happens before taking it in.
