Ford has done some odd things in the past. Our 2013 GT was built in May 2012.
My Fusion was built in July of 2014 as a 2015 model, so I get where you're coming from.

I don't see how that could be possible. Maybe last order change date but no way last build date.

We ordered our 18' on Feb 24th. The order number has only popped up on Ford's order tracker within the last week with a estimated delivery date of 83 days from now, which puts us at June 10th (As of today)

I suspect that April 5th is the last day for orders....but if that IS the last day of production, it might mean that we'll get our car sooner! <crosses fingers>

Should make 2018 a rare year might increase in value in 50 years like the 3.7 Mustangs will!

My dealer just got a call from Ford telling them that april 5 is the last build day for 2018 Mustangs.

2019 Production start up isn't scheduled until 6/11, so that would be a long changeover period for a car that remains basically unchanged except for colors, misc.

That is a bit long, but they could have some major manufacturing equipment due for some preventive maintenance, or putting in new machines/taking out old ones. A lot of major repair work on tooling/dies and machines can be a couple weeks and sometimes can be 6-8 weeks. Would be smart on Ford's part to schedule a lot of this between model year changeover, especially one like this where nothing is really changing.
