This can't be right. We need to wait for announcement from Ford. But anything over 3,900lbs and/or less than 700hp is going to be a disappointment. In my opinion, the car needs to have at least 50-75hp more than the prior GT500 and be under 3,900lbs for it to out-perform the competition. If that ratio was true and accurate I was thinking the same thing. 725 hp would be around 4160 pounds. If it were to weight about 3900 lbs it would be roughly 675 hp, would that be preferable?
I’m not saying it’s the truth! Someone with “inside” knowledge said power to weight ratio is 5.76 which if 725 hp that makes weight around 4160.This can't be right. I would say unfortunately I doubt that happens. I’m hopeful they keep it under 4000.No way it ways over 3850. If it does Ford should go back to the drawing board regardless of HP. My in out decision will be more based on weight than HP. A few extra HP on a supercharged engine is a simple bolt on fix shedding 200 plus pounds is different story.
Increased a bit in the official brochureThis ..... 755 Hinted in Digital Gauge Cluster. ;)
The GT350 almost weighs that, so I can’t see all the extra need to go into the GT500 to add only 50-60lbs more. A fully loaded Mustang GT is heavier then 3850lbs.:cheers:No way it ways over 3850. 772hp also matches the pattern of the previous GT500's 662hp (same number twice, then a 2)Nice! 772 pops out as well as the 74.3 on the miles. Both nice numbers if you assume 743.
Bigger brakes, a LOT more cooling, a supercharger and ancillary components. What makes you think it will be under 3850?No way it ways over 3850. They are adding lightness. Not confirming <= that number but they're not just taking a GT and adding a ton of stuff with no substantial weight reduction.Bigger brakes, a LOT more cooling, a supercharger and ancillary components. What makes you think it will be under 3850?
That’s good to hear. Someone posted a power to weight ratio of 5.76 accurate or crap? They are adding lightness. Not confirming <= that number but they're not just taking a GT and adding a ton of stuff with no substantial weight reduction.
