I use the factory recommended Motorcraft oil. However, I get it at Walmart because they are $13 cheaper than our local auto parts store (Autozone) for the same 5 qt. jug. Walmart has the Motorcraft filter too, so no dealer visit necessary.

Ford recommends changing oil at 6 month intervals if you aren't racking up enough mileage and that's what happens to me. I usually have 5k more miles at the 6 month interval. It would be a bit of a waste for me to use full synthetic in regard to prolonging mileage between oil changes. Maybe there would be an ever so slight benefit in engine protection if I was pushing the engine hard all of the time but I don't.

My dealership extends my powertrain warranty out to 10 years/200k miles as long as I do my oil changes and services through them. At $39, it's a no brainier.

No problem with running better oil, but don't think it will make a difference in how long your engine will last. Hell, most in here probably won't have their cars past 100k miles.
must be nice lol

I use Ford blended oil and I change it when it reads 0%. Walmart is slightly cheaper at 25 bucks for oil and filter.

Pennzoil has a great rebate going on now for their Ultra Platinum series. $2 a quart up to $48 max I believe.

I bought a 5 gallon jug of 0w-20 for my Mazda 6 and 8 quarts of 5w-20 Ultra Platinum full synthetic.

Seen nothing but great reviews about this oil in many vehicles.

It doesn't matter. As long as you keep it at the proper level and change it every 5k reg or 10k syn it's only gonna blow if it would no matter what. I maintained my truck perfect and the engine blew at 130k and tranny at 150k. Bad luck I guess. in between my truck and the issues I had with the stang I'm done with ford. Read quick because this post will be deleted soon! Mustang6g your are not doing anyone favor deleating the truth! Please send me a pm why you delete my none bashing post.

Any one want to open this can of worms? Mobil 1(Sold in the USA) is not full synthetic! They use group III base stock not PAO.

Yessir, including the filter and labor!
It's going to get expensive to change your oil on the 18s even if you do it yourself 10 Quarts plus filter. As a kid growing up and working at a service station after school almost every car used 5 quarts, 4 in the pan and 1 in the filter. Who would have ever guessed a modern V8 would need 10 quarts of oil.

What's your point? Very few "full synthetic" motor oils in the U.S. are actually what it says they are. Not just M1.
