If the GT350 continues into MY19-20, it will definitely need a power bump to stay ahead of the GT with performance packs. The prices are starting to close in, too; isn't a GT PP2 approaching $50K?

I got quoted Premium, Shaker, PP2, active exhaust, security pkg, 48K.

Im guessing for warranty claims and parts. I was surprised the 350 went to 2018 as it is. Im pretty sure one of Jamal Hameedi or Dave Pericak said the GT350 and 500 won't be for sale concurrently. Granted that was 3 years ago and things do change.

They also said the FPC was going to be 350 only. I guess they see the GT500 version as an unrelated engine.

I like to disassemble things.
They know exactly how "related they are" down to most every nut and bolt. If the GT500 uses a CPC then it isn't a FPC engine anymore, just as the 5.0L in the Mustang GT isn't. But of course, all 5.0L modular and 5.2L engines have quite a bit in common.

They key is that you won't see the same rpm ceiling. The 2018 Mustang GT5.0L engine is inching closer but simply can't give you what the FPC can.

That was sarcasm. Based on the rumored GT500 sightings its FPC.

I'd be very surprised if a supercharged 5.2L GT500 isn't CPC. You never know, but I don't see it.

When I attended the Track Tour in 2016 David, in person, did say the GT350 would be around for 2018 MY. Must have been Jamal? :)

Possible, but I don't get why they would spend all the money just to make 1 engine for 3 years. Ford usually likes to reuse as much as they can.

They can still remain true to their marketing claim that the 350 is the only one to get a 5.2 FPC and just build CPC versions with the 5.2 block. This makes more sense from a practical perspective, and to your point, that they need reuse to make it economically feasible. Furthermore, I do not see a boosted FPC holding up at the high power levels (re GT500).

We'll have to see how the 1000+HP whippled GT350 holds up I guess. There are already quite a few running round with 700+Whp.
