I've bought a few small cans of guard spray paint from fordpartsuk in the past, when I tried to order a few more I found my account no longer existed and they no longer sell guard paint

Never ever bought paint from a dealer, not even when I worked at dealers and could get trade prices

There is a small local paintshop I have always used to get all my paint from over the last 35 years or so of owning bikes and cars,

They used to take a small sample of paint from the vehicle to match to.
But now just have a small hand held unit to scan the vehicle and then match and make the paint on premises to match the colour, and supply in either small aerosol cans, touch up pens, or larger cans for spray guns etc depending upon what you require.

Been using them so long, I get mates rates, basically cost to them, so a touch up pen is about ÂŁ3, an aerosol is a fiver, and 5 lts of two pack spray paint about 12 quid.

Never ever had any issues with colour matching, in fact on older cars they have even managed to match the fade with age the paint gets.

Go to any halfords, or any automobile paint store they'll make an aerosol on it if you tell them the colour and year/model of car it's on.

I've paid around ÂŁ5-10 for a colour (ÂŁ27 for ruby red as it's a 2 part colour)

But then you get a generic colour, not one specifically custom matched to your exact vehicle.

Yes using original paint codes help get close but never an exact match.

This is what I was worried about.

This is what I was worried about.
I’ve had paint mixed by a friend whom works in a spray shop, both times he just used the code and it was spot on...

He told me that many colours have tint codes to add to the ordinary code to get an exact match, but for some reason Guard doesn’t have any tint codes. It’s just the basic code, and that’s it...:)

I have some if you want, but it’s not in a spray can
