I 1st noticed this issue about a year ago when I saw a couple drops of water on the passenger side kick panel. I didn't think much about it at the time but within a month of that I spotted actual drips falling onto the kick panel while driving in the rain.
At 1st it wasn't real bad, but has gotten worse over time to the point that I now keep a towel laying against the panel to catch the water as it leaks in. Just last week, after raining for a couple of hours the towel I had on the floor was so wet I had to ring it out.
I've looked over the weatherstrip in the door jamb and can't see anything that's obviously out of place or damaged to explain the leak, but as best as I can tell it looks like the water is somehow getting in the top front corner of the door, then seeping into the seam on the side panel of the dash where it runs down to the lower dash trim and drips onto the kick panel.
So has anyone else experienced a leak like this? Does anybody have a knowledgeable suggestion to fix it? I'm probably going to take the car to a body shop to have the door to body seam gaps adjusted since those gaps are really uneven around the door (no accidents, it's just bad fit/finish from the factory), and double check the seals but since the car is out of warranty all shop time comes out of my wallet so anything I can try on my own might save me some bucks.
