It's pretty awesome that Ford is building this as well as other car makers. I think it's awesome and somewhat reasonable for a factory built race car.

Unless you are doing majority of the work yourself, it'll cost you quiet a bit of money & time to have a shop build you a race car. I don't know if any of you have experience with Motec and custom wiring harnesses but that stuff is super expensive.

Instead of complaining about how expensive things are, why don't we encourage Ford to build more and more of these and possibly cheaper variants for the masses? :headbonk:

Not much complaining about price. Lots of complaints about having it be unobtainium at only 50 units made.

How many Miata Cup cars does Mazda make? How many 911 Cup cars does Porsche make? Both far north of 50.

Porsche built 50 cars - 65 +/- per year for the 993 cups, except 1998, transition year to 996 cup where they only built 30, then in 99-2001 the went to 60 cars then 2002 - 2006 - 65 +/-

2005 997 cups totaled 50 - then in 2006 they figured out how to build them on the assembly line so the ramped up production to 260 cars per year and have made that many per year through the 2013. 991 cups are more rare, but still building plenty but as the price has climbed in into the $250k range, so they dropped in total number built as that is a pretty thin market.

Cayman club sports was less than 100
