I don't think anything sounds better than the Solo Mach XV. I've heard the Roush, and I think they sound like crap. The Corsa sounds good, but is too much. AWE sounds very good, but I don't think it's better than the Solo. I do need to check out the Krona.

My personal favorite is Roush followed by Corsa Extreme. They have almost the same sound, very deep at idle and low rpms, screamy like a racecar when flooring it.

Corsa Extreme - Super loud, no drone, but more exotic and not as deep
Solo Performance - awesome deep, old school muscle car tone, no drone

I went with Solo because Iā€™ll be adding headers soon and didnā€™t want to crazy loud.

Pypes h-box catback is the closest thing I found to my ā€˜98 with Mac pro chamber. Thatā€™s what I went with on the ā€˜16 and couldnā€™t be happier!

One thing to keep in mind - is the exhaust note on the older engines is a function of the exhaust, cam, compression, etc. It may be kind of hard to match.

On my 331 sbf I went from the stock 5.0 cam grind to a custom grind with a 109 lsa. It changed the exhaust note more than adding headers. Heck - comp cams has their thumpr series cams which are mostly just for the sound.

OP wants a deep sounding exhaust and no rasp and a lot of ppl are recommending the Corsa Xtremes lol
OP stay away from the Xtremes unless you hear one in person and you like it. I had them before and they get raspy at 4k+ rpms, they arent deep sounding either.

american racing headers h pipe / catback / full

the key is the h, of course.

calm but deep under no load, but when you give it throttle you get that glorious old school american v8 noise. zero drone whatsoever at any speed. 304 stainless. handmade in NY (I believe). worth the money.

I have an arh catback with the H-pipe. Sound is great but i wont lie, i wish it were a little louder..
wha? have you measured with a db meter? mine is LOUD AS FUCK at WOT.

This is a great thread.. I'm looking to possibly swap out my Roush axle-backs for a full system and I'm not looking to have them so loud that they scream look at me all the time.. The deeper and less raspy the better in my mind..

Honestly, the Roush has a little too much note in the cabin for me on the highway.. Makes it hard to have a conversation with your passenger.

Just finished my exhaust up last week. Kooks headers, green cats, H-pipe, Borla S-type mufflers... definite win in the deep sounding no drone exhaust. Less than 2k is just a subtle rumble that is almost unnoticeable. 2500-4500 you are going to turn some heads. 5000+ almost as loud as an open exhaust. Has awesome popping sounds too.

MRT 3" H-Pipe Catback. Has a nice deep tone, no rasp, no drone, and sounds great. I've had it since I bought the car in early 2015 as it was the only H-pipe out at the time. It's certainly not the cheapest cat back out there but I've been super happy with it.
