I wasn't really "feeling" the difference in modes from the Magneride on my 2019 GT which I just picked up on Monday, and I definitely could feel it when I test drove a Magneride GT back in December/January. So, yesterday evening, I decided to check the tire pressure to see where Ford put it from the factory before driving home from work (the tires are supposed to be at 32 PSI each)... The rear tires were at 44 PSI, the fronts were at 41 PSI... :headbonk:
Needless to say, before driving home from work, I dropped the pressure down to 32 PSI each and not only is the ride ridiculously better (it already was good) but now I can certainly feel the difference in Magenride modes (the tires were likely so over-inflated that the ride quality felt "tight" regardless of mode).

Oh, lordy... :ford:

That's how mine were when I first got it. I was amazed at my gas mileage.

I do remember my 16 was at around 40 PSI each but that was in an unseasonably warm October so I just figured Detroit must have been cold and the PSI jumped from the temperature difference in the weather

Oh shit I just realized this, I should check. I remember them being at something stupid like 40 psi all around when warm. I'll check the recommended psi and check it cold next time.

Always check this. My tires were 45 PSI front and rear when I received mine, after PDI.

That’s fairly common with new cars at the time they arrive at the dealer on a transporter truck. I work for a dealer that sells other brands (not Ford) and our cars usually arrive with tire pressure set at about 40 and SUVs/Crossovers are normally around 45. PDI should have let a bit of that air out though. Did you by chance ask for them not to wash or PDI it before you took delivery?

No, they had their best detail guy do a full detail for me (actually used ceramic pro) that morning before I arrived and did a full PDI while waiting on the financing stuff. :)

Yep, tires were at 38-39 PSI cold. All set to 32 now! It should feel less like riding on balloons

Was the first thing I did when I arrived at the Dealership. Mine were at 44 PSI also. Moved them down to 32 PSI. I'm running now at 33 PSI front and 33.5 in the rear (I have the fill size spare in the truck, so there's a little extra weight back there).

I'll have to check this on mine, I do remember glancing at this and it was around 40, but I think that was warm. Didn't think much of it. You're talking 32 psi cold right? Thanks for the heads up!

Are all models at 32 psi per the door jamb (be it the regular GT, PP1, Bullitt), or does that vary based on model and wheel / tire combo?

Yeah, I had the exact same experience. Driving my new 2016 PP car, I was amazed at the MPGs I was getting!!. Then, flipping through the screens, I found the tire pressure sensor screen.

Well, those MPGs came back down to reality once the PSIs were properly set!

I do think that when my new tires go on, I'll set the PSIs a bit higher, I think 32 PSI is too low, around 35 might be better.

Yeah, dealer PDI is a joke.
I didn't let them touch my car when I took delivery of it.

Nope, keep you damn hands off it, you don't know what the hell you're doing. I'll take care of it.:paddle::paddle:
