2019 Base Radio

It’s stupid they are getting to the point of, if they haven’t already that the R&D is paid off.
Ford emasculates a base system that already had low T. The OEM cost for this type of audio/interface is just dollars per unit. Granted a larger screen is a higher price point but all sourced from the low bidder in China. The guys at KIA are laughing .

The backup camera must suck. Considering they are required by law to have them now there must be one?

Or even put a nice screen in and up-sell services such as navigation, data/etc.

The base Kia systems aren't bad.

at least ford gives you the option for the 8" with the 301a package, i dunno why anyone would want a base radio

On my base 18 it is actually very good. Nice sharp clear color picture.

Because I am cheap and wanted more money for mods. I listen to the roar of the V8 anyway. Not the radio.

Exactly this. That base radio is a joke in 2018. A radio delete with a standard double-din hole and a would be a better option.

The door speaker grille loses the chrome trim ring too?

the way ford is pricing mustangs now, they would probably charge more for a radio delete or only offer the option in the Shelby....lol

Most of us purchased mustangs knowing they were slower than the competition because looks do matter.

I specifically bought my 2016 with the base radio. :shrug:

But the 2019 does look worse.

no, but it sure makes it a lot better and more enjoyable to putt around town in, bc let's be honest, at least for most 90 percent of the time, it's crusing around. heck, even with the AC full blast you can have lots of fun. I'd rather be surrounded by creature comforts, or at least some, rather than look at that terrible display for the amount of money the base costs. nothing against base cars, but unless it's a 90 percent drag car, to me, a 400A package is well worth it. this is just an opinion, but most of us are making payments, so for an extra $35 a month or so probably for the upgraded package, it's well worth it. i'm not a Ford sales person btw lol but that's what they're banking on. an upgrade. the leather and heated/cooled seats are well worth the upgrade IMO and the better center cluster.
