It's just a different theme, you can set it with FORScan. Check out the as-built threads.

nm, it all makes sense with the "as-built" thread which is very informative.

Wanted to chime in here....registered solely because this thread has been very useful as I've been frustrated with bluetooth album art and so few places talk about this.

Using either an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S8+ with Google Play Music, I don't get album art shipped to the Sync 3 display. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the app (although I've tested Spotify and local files over BT) or the bluetooth stack...although I would think the iPhone would kill that possibility.

I was hoping v3 of Sync would solve this problem. Sad to report it does not. Also setting media player "gracenote management" to OFF, does not seem to do anything, which is consistent with sync 2.2 and 2.3....

I know Android Auto/Car Play solves this, but I don't always use that feature and really like the ease of bluetooth.

Who is to blame in this? Not sure, but it is a frustrating situation.

Otherwise, version 3. I can tell the font was increased on the main screen, a few icons look a little different (Nav I want to say got a new icon). Otherwise...it looks like every other version of Sync. I did not get more colorful buttons when you press them, like some other Fords have, just boring blue.

I have been experiencing one bug in v 2.2 and 2.3 - when using Android Auto, occasionally doing "OK Google" voice command will make the music audio get "stuck" in the car's center channel. I'm guessing the voice commands come out of a single speaker and it makes the music get flat. It eventually either works itself out or you can toggle bt on/off or do more voice commands to fix it. HOPEFULLY, version 3 at least addressed this.

Overall, little disappointed but on the bright side, Android Auto/Carplay at least fixes most shortcomings of car infotainment.

Mine refuses to update with a USB stick, I tried 3 different 64GB ones and followed the instructions to the letter and no go, however I just let the car run accessory power connected to my wifi for about 30 minutes and it updated itself from 2.3 to 3.0 with no problem.

I to have noticed this since I got my 2016 Mustang and it annoys me to no end. When I am in rentals, I see other cars rack the song art from my MP3's.

I have quite a few old MP3's (and song my kids have covered) - those where I have embedded song art myself refuse to come up on the Sync Screen (unless I am in Carplay mode). I have a iPhone 8 Plus.

started with 17276, 64 GB Samsung and 32 GB sticks...no dice

downgrading to 2.2 with 64 GB stick...you cannot go from 17276 to the official 3.0, once 2.2 installed it allows me to install official 3.0, full details in my next post

215 sync restrated on its own, keep usb plugged in
216 system has been updated message, keep usb plugged in
218 updating system software again
221 install complete notice, unplug usb and restart car in 5 minutes

after you turn the car back on your colors and things might be odd, do another master reset

i have it for non nav, if someone has a hosting site ill upload it; unless that is not allowed from the warning ford gave to this website

My car is U.S. spec. Is there a way to get it to upload the Europe maps? I scoured this thread and the GT350 forscan thread, but nada. Thanks.

thats a different forum my friend..those guys have already installed F7 newest map out there.. but you cant install europe maps on US I dont think because of different modules we need ESN here
