We all know this question is coming sooner or later. Can the LCD screen gauges be retrofitted to 2015-2017 models? How difficult would it be?

Edit: as it turns out, the retrofit is relatively easy to do and since this post, as someone pointed out, has blown up with questions, here is the link to the diy: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99275

apart from the cost, you'd have to replace the gauge housing and might even have to replace driver side dash board

Considering the digital gauges are an OPTION and not standard with the 2018 it could be possible. It's really not a great question to ask considering nobody will know until Fall... But I guess you could never be too ready LMAO.

That's what I was thinking. I do think this is a very reasonable question as there are ppl that are already considering trading their 15-17's for the 2018 for all the optional tech it gets. It would be smarter from a financial standpoint to just upgrade your 15-17 accordingly granted it is possible and not horrifically expensive. I, for one, do not like the front end. I'd rather just live contently with what I have.

you're better off getting it through OEMRadio rather than ford parts

I will be upgrading as soon as it's possible. Hopefully OEMRadio can do it and even better allow customizations. Like shift light.

Also be cool to raise the tach to allow higher rpm.

I am 90% certain that the cluster can be swapped into our cars without issue. From what I can tell, we will need the cluster itself and dash trim surrounding the cluster (the gauge cluster chrome trim). From there it should be a plug and play swap with the minor issue of getting the mileage programed... I am going to guess that the cost of the cluster will be in the range of $1200 from Fordparts and will not be available until the end of the year at the earliest.

Might be a different style plug, but I doubt it. Other than that, I agree with Zack. I wonder what the base model gauges will look like.

Anything's possible, but I doubt it'd be an easy swap, and parts likely won't be available for a while.

The base model likely gets the same cluster as the 15-17 judging by how they did not change the center gauge design.

I'm guessing these are going to be around $400-800 on Ebay from wrecked cars.
