I went to the dealer today who’s got a Kona and Lightning to compare the two. After comparing on the build site and looking at all the photos here, I went in thinking I preferred Lightning, but came back preferring Kona. It’s a rich deep blue that is really beautiful in the sun. Lightning really pops in the sun because it’s lighter, but it actually has a greenish hint at times and is not as “blue” as Kona. Only downside to Kona is that Because it is darker it will show dust/dirt and swirls. But I’m thinking it’s worth it. I really love my Ruby and still think it’s the best color... but I’m also thinking I might want to change it up if I’m going to jump on an ‘18.
First two are Kona, second two are Lightning. Both cars were dirty.

I got to see both side by side in bright sunlight. Kona had more of a purple tint and was way more metallic than I thought it was going to be.

Are they upside down? They look right side up to me. Think it’s an Apple vs. PC thing.

Actually it's not, it's how iPhone store picture orientation properties, on a PC or Mac you'll see everything fine, but once you upload it'll be messed up. To fix it, you can simply rotate the picture on either a Mac or a PC counter clockwise 90 degrees, save it, and rotate it back clockwise 90 degrees, save it again, that'll overwrite the orientation properties.

Hmmm. I didn’t see purple tint in Kona.

Kona is too dark to enjoy. The best blue ford made was Sonic Blue then Deep Impact Blue in the 13-14 Mustangs.

Upside down Kona is best Kona.

Lightning blue looks too much like the Camaro's Hyper blue for my tastes.
