had a chat to my dealer today. Apparently ford has changed from giving out VIN a few weeks before to giving them out a week into car production.

Hey guys, it looks like this particular ship is ahead of time... according to the date given and the ETA date shown its about 5 - 6 days ahead of time. I still strongly believe ford wont release any cars before the first week of July.

Has anyone else been told that Ford Australia is going over the 2018 cars to check for specific problems?

I've heard that Ford Australia is taking back 2017 stock from dealers to give to head office people that had requested 2018 cars in a bid to reduce unsold stock.

You sound like you have a good inside source ?

I thought Ford were taking them back and doing some sort of rental plan with them to reduce stock levels.

The guy I spoke to was a bit ticked off - he felt that he could sell all the cars he had but Ford were taking some back regardless.
He's sold several in the last couple of weeks.
Ford thought it was a good way to get them off the lots and also reduce their commitment of 2018 cars
