Anyone have the 265/35 tire option (20 inch silver wheels), as an option on a base GT suspension car? Just wondering if the ride is livable on moderately rough-ish roads.

Any sense of whether a base suspension car with the 20"/265/35 tires would ride better, worse, or same as the 19" wheel/tire combo on a car with the performance pack option?

Thanks for any feedback...doing some memorial day car shopping...

Yes I just got a 2018 with that setup. I’m coming from a Focus ST that had quite a choppy ride to it. The mustang is heavier and doesn’t get tossed around like the Focus did. My commute is mostly good interstate and to me that is where the mustang shines. Driving around on bad city roads the 20” wheels may beat you up a little. A 19” wheel will always ride better than a 20” everything else being equal, because you will have more sidewall to absorb bumps.

Also keep in mind The 2018 base suspension is a bit firmer than the 2017.

You can always swap out the tires fir 275/35/20 like I did to give you a bit more cushion. It’s fine for my daily drive but I am not on any moderately rough-ish roads.

I came from a C-Class Mercedes and it feels cushy smooth in comparison.

If I was in Texas like you, I wouldn't mind 20s. Being in the northeast, 20s would make me cringe every time I approached damaged pavement (every 100 yards or so). In my case, I'd be looking at no bigger than 19s, and would likely settle for 18s to save the wheels.

I feel like I must be crazy for thinking this setup is actually on the cushy side. The 18s must feel like riding on a sofa!
